Ferry Motel
Great location close to the city. Parking outside the motel door was great. The unit we had was ideal for a family group and the electric blanket on the bed was a nice touch.

As our booking system shows that we are authorized to proceed the payment from credit card, you can note it "pay on arrival". We don't accept pay at checkout and haven't advised that to you. Thanks and regard.

Ferry motel review
Pretty standard motel facilities. Good for families as the rooms accommodate more pax. Price was ok but does not come with a.c./ heat pump or fan.No proper closet or place to hang clothes.No tissue box supplied. Ordered room on hotels.com , payment indicated to be cash on arrival but the hotel took the liberty to deduct my credit card even before I arrived. However the counter lady was most helpful and accommodating.

Thank you for staying with us and much appreciated for your kind review. We got wardrobe and hangers next to the living room, probably you didn't notice it :) We accept pay on arrival with cash. We charged from the credit card as the booking system showed that we are authorized to proceed the payment. Sorry for any inconvenience for you. Didnt even check in. Outside of the property is run down and people hanging out in front were less than savoury. In the 5 mins we were parked out front we had someone bang on our window to know if we were parking our vehicle there. Felt unsafe and did not want to bring my chilredn into a property where i didnt feel safe. Ended up finding somewhere else.

Dear guest, our property is a very nice and affordable place to stay and our staff and clients are very friendly. Perhaps it is not as modern as you expected. It is a pity that you gave us a bad review for a no-show. Our receptionist said you left invalid credit card info and we can't reach you through the phone. We are happy that you find another place. Handy location for me

Not very well secured.
I had an intruder knocking on my door around 2.30 am. there were some young guys in the unit next door drinking, smoking and making noise in the evening which was really nuisance.

Get what you pay for
Motel decor and furnishings dated and in poor condition. Room smelt of cigarette smoke and carpet had cigarette burns in the carpet. Some rooms appeared to have. Permanent tenants who had visitors during all hours of the night. In future will inspect facilities before making payment.

Old, Dirty, Smelly
I booked a 1 night stay in the one bedroom unit (number 4). First when I got the key the Chinese man opened the door and shoulder barged me out. then when I opened the unit door I was overpowered buy a smell of Sulfur/rotten eggs like someone let one rip with a serious stomach virus. I'm pretty sure the smell was coming from the vent in the bathroom as the smell got worse when I turned the light on and the fan came on automatic. Next was the old outdated look of the unit, plus it wasn't as clean as other motels I've been in. There was fat splatters all up the kitchen wall, the blinds were black at the top with either mold or dirt. It felt really icky and made my skin crawl the whole time I was there. I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

Unpleasant stay
It was totally an unpleasant and disgusting stay. Please rethink your stay with this hotel as you won't want to go through the trauma of being accused of damaging his already old and damaged room facilities. Please do not be a victim like me to fork out money for the owner's repair work. Remember to select your hotel wisely and enjoy your wonderful trip. As for me, I had a bad time because of the wrongful dispute with the owner.

Convenient location , the property needs facelift
The bed was very low and uncomfortable. The kitchen ware were of poor standard and the general getup was poor. The shower was difficult to manage.

BOOKED IT DRUNK WORST MISTAKE OF THE TRIP
First off it is actually shaped like a Ferry boat.. red flag right there. Second of all it is dark, dirty, cold, and scary. The bathrooms are atrocious and very hostel like but so much worse. We made dinner there one night and the staff left our dishes out and only made the bed. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND.

We always try to allocate the best unit to our customers, as if we could it will upgrade to the deluxe one-bedroom or two bedrooms which are located on the back and very quiet, but if the deluxe one-bedroom and two bedrooms have been booked out, we have to accommodate with our customer to the special price unit which they booked.

Meh.
Stayed for one night on a mother daughter trip. The room was rather a disappointment. The door was hard to lock. Also, the room was facing a rather busy street and the sound of cars passing wasn't blocked by the rather thin walls (my mother kept waking up in the night because of it). Upside was that there was good hot water for the showers and the heater for the room was good; it was rather cheap so that's another upside. We only stayed one night so it was bearable but i dont know if I could stay beyond that.

Good Motel close to transport to Town centre
This motel is central to the Peninsula and Camterbury areas. One problem was the shower recess was a fixture and too high to get underalthough water was hot.

We had a lovely stay. Motel had everything we need
Manager was great to communicate with. Our room was refreshed everyday. Great stay here at Ferry Motel!

Budget accommodation in easy to find location.
Arrived late and the office were happyy to accommodate that which we appreciated. Quiet location and suited what we needed - a cheap night accommodation, close to arterial routes. Bathroom lacks active ventilation system and decor is dated but that wasn't an issue for us -room was cheap, very clean and comfortable, with a carpark outside.

motel was showing affects from earthquakes, gaps in front door , different floor levels under the carpet, shower shampoo and body wash dispensers were MT, lots of road noise all night .

Quiet Spacious Motel
Good off street parking for vehicle and trailer. Friendly, helpful greeting and book in. Large unit, clean, cool and quiet despite the Motel being on a busy road. Very enjoyable stay close to the wedding venue at the Tannery.

Nice enough place, but people having a party outside my room till late and then people working in the garden outside my window first thing in the morning didnt make for a very restful stay. Hosts were nice and position was convenient, but not worth the money.

Very dated, run down neighbourhood
A nice enough motel, very clean and cheap. Really old decor and furniture, seems a little like an old people's home? Lots of space, good sized rooms. The area is a little rough. I would recommend this for someone passing through that wants a cheap, quick stop. Definitely not ideal for a family stay or holiday.

Homely motel close to town.
The Ferry Motel is a cosy, reasonably priced family run motel close to the ChCh CBD. The management and staff are very friendly and hospitable. Mark very kindly gave us a larger unit at the back of the property at no extra cost so we weren't as near to the road noise. It's very easy to get to other parts of the city as it's on a major bus route, and is within walking distance to town. We had a very comfortable stay.

Warm, clean and cozy!
The Arran Hotel was perfect for our two night stay in Te Anau. The room was clean, cozy and warm. We appreciated the milk in the fridge for coffee in the mornings! The location was convenient to the city center and the lake. We also received great advice on things to do in the area and activities for the Milford Sound upon arrival. Would highly recommend!

On easy bus route to town. Super market over the road. Large units. Very accommodating manager. Needs work as it seems old and not well maintained. Beds comfortable and clean. The unit appears clean on the surface but is not so clean if you look at for instance the toaster and some other kitchen utensils. We just washed everything before use and that was fine. It is ideal for larger group as you can sit together for breakfast and coffee. Comfortable chairs and plenty of space. We had the back units so no problems with traffic noise. We were given a password for Wifi but were not able to connect to it. I didn't mention this to the manager as we were out most of the time anyway. Good price

Friendly staff but motel was a little dated and really needs upgrading. Can walk to City centre from here half an hour at leisurely pace albeit there is plenty of free parking in the city.

Pass christchurch for a day, no plan to stay longer, very helpful motel manager introuced heaps fun things here that made me stayed longer. Room was clean and bright, facilities all useful, room rate was reasonable, if come back to chch, i will back to stay.

warm and good value motel
the motel unit we stayed is north face unit, which insulation was good enough, that is very important in the cold time. the staffs were very helpful, and the location is exactly what we want.

Great motel at great price
I came down to chch on a business trip and stayed at ferry motel. It was a very pleasant stay. Very handy to the city and only ten minutes drive to the sumner beach. I had a back room which was quiet and spacious. The motel owner is friendly and helpful and made me feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend to anyone who comes to chch.

Convenient and good value for families.
Clean and comfortable but fittings are tired and our unit had paint spills throughout from a rushed repaint job. If you don't mind that, then it is a good place to stay.

I only stayed here one night myself, my flight was late than schedule, I called the owner when I was on the airplane, he asked my flight details and arranged late checkin service for my stay. When I arrived around 1:00am, I followed instructions to found my room, the lights was on as well as the heater, I felt so warm and comfortable of this bath studio unit, bed was so comfortable and location was handy to the area I need, no complaint at all.Thanks ferry motel team. Definately will come back again！
