“Can we have exactly the same as the smugglers cove here in Banbury please, the carvery would be a sell out! Beautifully clean and fresh rooms, and well decorated. The pub rooms and food especially the carvery are to be recommended. ”

“Brilliant hotel”

“It as a beautiful 1400 Grade 1-listed building, which was great, but I had problems with the shower. In my initial room the water was lukewarm at best. I was moved to another where the water was hot but the shower was weak. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was good. They had soya milk for my coffee.”

“Very spacious, quirky room in this charming old pub. Very well looked after & comfortable. Lady behind the bar was extremely cheerful & helpful when I checked in. Defo recommend ”

“Clean good sized room, towels, kettle, mugs/tea/coffee making facilities and ample breakfasts. Stayed in family rm and lucky to not have other people stay next door so had the shower/toilet to ourselves. Staff were nice, friendly and polite. Flexible in having takeaway sarnies for lunch in place of breakfast. Decor a bit dated and room a little too room, but on the whole felt very comfortable. Thanks 😊 ”

“A really welcoming group of people and a quick check in. Typical character building with wonky creaky floors but loads of charm. A bit cold in the room at first but soon warmed up with the heater. Lovely amenities and a great bathroom too. Good pub food for dinner, breakfast was OK (hard boiled poached eggs will always get a point deducted I’m afraid). Will definitely stay again though.”

“Very welcoming & friendly staff, clean room & comfortable bed, breakfast was excellent with a choice of menu. My only concern was our window would Not stay open & we were very hot during the night although a fan was in the room could not sleep with it on, In the morning very little hot water pressure, this could be the someone else had the hot water running at the same time, these were very small negatives but would definitely stay here again ”

“Little gem of a place, very good value. Room was basic but clean, and with a balcony and a view what more do you need? Very warm welcome. Breakfast not included but you can get it in the bar after 10. ”

“Everything about this hotel was fantastic. The rooms were amazing ,super king size bed too ,which was so comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant,so much choice and cooked to perfection.We will be returning in the future ,that's for sure 😊”
