    The Space:

    Situated on a large 1.68-acre lot, this private mountain retreat is a year-round oasis. Take in forest and mountain views from the comfort of your 2,107-square-foot home, where an open layout makes it easy to socialize, and beautiful wood accents add charm. Experience total relaxation and seclusion while you unwind indoors or spend leisurely afternoons relaxing on the large furnished deck. The surrounding forest offers lovely views and an added layer of privacy. Your prime locale is a short drive from local attractions, restaurants, and necessities. Drive about 20 miles to Asheville or less than 15 to downtown Waynesville - both of which offer endless opportunities for dining, hiking, shopping, and fun adventures. Take in scenic views while you play a round at Lake Junaluska Golf Course. Or, enjoy the mountainous landscape while you stroll the four-mile walking trail surrounding the lake. Located just over 10 miles from I-40, this retreat provides scenic views on the winding road as you approach home. Paved access adds convenience. Stretch out on the sectional in the light-filled great room and watch a movie on the smart TV. Make plans for the day at the desk, or grab a book and kick back in one of the armchairs. Prepare favorite recipes in the kitchen, outfitted with modern cookware. Ample counter space makes meal prep a breeze. One of the bedrooms is a loft open to the great room below. Complimentary WiFi and a washer/dryer are provided.

  • No large trucks, work vehicles, or trailers are allowed at this home.
  • A wood furnace previously heated this home and a slight smokey smell may linger.
  • The loft receives natural morning light.
  • The fireplace is not operational.
  • This three-level home is accessed via three steps.
  • Check-in time: 4:00 p.m.
  • Check-out time: 10:00 a.m.
  • All guests shall abide by our good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity.
  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.

Great Time

This house is very accommodating for family gathering together. The large dining room table is a great place to gather for meals, while overlooking the lake. The porch and rocking chairs make a very nice place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Great house

This is 100 year-old farmhouse Lake class. It was wonderful. The kitchen is a new gourmet kitchen hated an air conditioning, old farmhouse furniture not a brand spanking Holiday Inn but a perfect place to make family memories.

Peaceful Mountain Getaway

Quiet and relaxing stay for our entire family! Similar to other reviews, the driveway is an experience in navigation (not for the “faint at heart”)!

Beautiful mountain house

Our family enjoyed our stay at this beautifully decorated mountain home. The Mountain View although slightly blocked by trees was gorgeous. Would highly recommend.

Falling apart at the seams…but that porch!

The house needs a lot of updating and work, but the space was great and the porch was divine! If you don’t mind cracked walls, creaky floors, and the possibility of a visit from Aunt Martha, then it’s a fine place. Perfect location, spectacular views. That’s what you’re paying for!

Great weekend escape

We found the property to be exactly as pictured and perfect for our group. Everyone had a wonderful time. We enjoyed hiking nearby and kayaking in Asheville. Everything about checkin in and out was a breeze. Thank you!

Fabulous house!

The peaceful deck was our favorite hangout, beautifully decorated, comfortable and felt like we were in a treehouse. The whole house was extremely clean with comfortable furniture, nice linens, plenty of towels and kitchen ware. Vacasa was attentive and great customer service. Also, very short drive to an Ingles supermarket. Thank you for the stay in this lovely home!

Great weekend volunteering in NC MOUNTAINS

Had a wonderful weekend staying at this house in Clyde. We were excited to actually be able to check in since the hurricane destroyed so many homes near there. This home is very nice and the beds are so comfortable. Lots of space and beautiful views. So honored to be able to volunteer at the International Sports Complex in Canton and hand out food and provisions to the great people who live here. The people who live in this area are so strong and resourceful. Loved meeting so many ❤️😊

Pre-Thanksgiving Get Away

Great location away from the Asheville area, but close enough to easily enjoy Biltmore, the Asheville breweries and downtown area. In the other direction is Waynesville, NC. Another unique jem in the mtns of NC. First time up the "drive" from the main road is a bit daunting, but you get used to it. Great open space, Bedrooms tucked out of the way. Incredible views of the upper porch. Great sized kitchen and had everything we needed.

Dog Friendly?

Although this home was very nice, it was a little difficult to navigate with the dogs. If we had realized the bedrooms were down a flight of uncarpeted stairs and the main exit was upstairs, we probably would not have stayed here. It’s a beautiful home but I wouldn’t recommend for dogs or small children.

Best of both worlds

We wanted to experience the country setting but be close enough to Ashville so can take advantage of the great shops and restaurants. Plenty of outdoor activities within an hour or less of where we stayed. Which included kayaking, hiking and zip lining. Was able to experience the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way to Mt Mitchel as well. Ziplining could have been better. Next time, I would find one which is tree based instead of based on manmade towers. But was okay. Overall, it was a very pleasant week.

Relaxing abode

This home provided a much-needed respite during a busy wedding weekend. Nestled up in the trees, it was such a treat to just sit on the expansive porch and listen to the birds. The home was very clean and comfortable and supplied every amenity a hotel does. The kitchen was loaded with pots, pans, knives, etc. and we were able to cook full meals no problem. The only word of warning is access to the place. The road is pretty steep. 2-wheel drive can get up it no problem in the warm months but I would be terrified to do it in slick, snowy conditions. GREAT location though! Couldn't recommend it enough!

Beautiful home with a great view

My only "complaint" is that the driveway is very narrow, and although, yes, there was plenty of room for 3-4 cars to fit, actually maneuvering and turning around is mildly anxiety-inducing considering the house is basically in the middle of a mountain. That aside, the house is beautifully decorated. The check-in/out process was pretty seamless. I received a text when the house was ready, and there is a binder with everything you need to know on the kitchen counter. The views from the loft bedroom and upstairs deck are stunning, especially first thing in the morning. If I ever go back to Asheville, I would definitely try to book this house again. My sisters and I had a great and relaxing time. Thanks for having us!

Haunted Mansion

This place is not ready to be rented. The pictures used lighting and filters and does not represent the dark, moldy, dirty, creepy home that this place is. We stayed at this home for approximately 2 hours while we searched for a new VRBO. When we arrived it was dirty, extremely old and creepy! The furniture and bedding looked to be 30 years old and was yellowed and nasty. Porch was dirty and covered with spider webs. Walls and ceilings were covered in cracks and leaking paint. House was rotting on outside and there were serious foundation issues and some of the rooms were tilted. I was just creeped out and eww! I was willing to forfeit the entire amount I paid to leave. Baseboards and bathrooms were dirty. Drawers in kitchen were dirty. No basic necessities in kitchen, not even salt and pepper. If you are going to rent your house have the decency to go to Ross and spend 300 on new comforters and pillows and get rid of all your silk plants and old decor that is collecting dust.
