A beautiful place

The house is beautiful with spectacular views of the sea and surrounding jungle. Jez and the Floating House team were all really kind and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again.

Costa Rica At it’s Best!

This is our second time renting The Floating House and that fact alone should say enough! The house and the area are wonderful, peaceful and beautiful. We will most likely be back again!

Fantastic property in a stunning location

This is a unique property in an incredible location. A few minutes walk from a spectacular beach, yet peaceful and secluded. The rooms and decks are at eye level with the jungle canopy and the amazing wildlife that inhabits it. Surfing, yoga, fishing, waterfall treks, great restaurants all in an incredible natural setting. Tough to beat.

A perfect tonic for world-weary souls

We spent the first day pinching ourselves as we couldn’t believe how lucky we were to be staying in such a unique and beautiful house. It was a real joy to be there and we felt very grateful to the owners for sharing the slice of heaven they've created. The views are incredible and it was a tonic for the soul to be so close to nature and to have the hypnotic sound of the Pacific as a sound track to our stay.

Wonderful house and location

Great open air home with large family spaces. Comfortable and private. Nice pool and chill space No electronics so be prepared to fill your nights with animal and ocean sounds - nice trade off. Recommend highly

Best Vacation Ever

Our family of 4 (mom, dad, sons 13 and 10) had a phenomenal stay at the Floating House. Natallia and Alexia arranged for everything both before and during our trip -- surf lessons, horseback riding, atv tour, zipline, buggie rentals...as a result, we had the privacy of our own home but the convenience of a concierge. The house was a dream in the jungle and we were only a short trip to town and a few minutes from the most beautiful, unspoiled beach. Everything about our stay was special, from the parade of monkeys outside in the morning to our evening rides into town in our open buggy. The Floating House is a unique dream destination. We will be back!!

The Most Beautiful House and Unique Experience!

My family and I stayed at the The Floating House this past June of 2015. We absolutely loved every minute of it!! When we drove up, our jaw dropped when we saw the beautiful house on the hill. We were greeted by Jez who had a huge smile on his face from our reaction. The house is that spectacular! It is so wonderful to be open to the environment around you and also blend in to the trees and nature. I felt like we were in a tree house. A very nice tree house! You can actually hear the surf from the balcony of the house too. Monkeys play in the trees around the property. Our boys thought this was very fun. And we LOVED the pool every day. We feel so lucky to have been able to have the chance to stay at this magnificent house. Dahlia and Jez were so very helpful too. They had such great suggestions for activities and surf lessons. Beach is walking distance from the house. We usually took our car, however, so we could bring a cooler and towels etc. It was nice having a car to be able to run into the cute towns around the house. We LOVED our visit here and we can't wait to go back. Our boys are getting older and it's hard to plan a time when we can all be together, but we were all together here! It was very special! Thank you Dahlia and Jez for sharing your beautiful home with us!! I can't say enough about this amazing place!!

Unique Experience

We stayed at Flotanta House with our four children (7, 5, 2, 10 months) in June. We had an amazing week despite very warm, humid conditions. The pictures do not even come close to capturing the wonder of this house. The view is unparallelled. The sounds of the forest and ocean are enchanting. The wildlife is spectacular. The kids enjoyed splashing in the pool with troops of howler and capuchin monkeys observing from the trees above. We were worried about the railings with our newly mobile 10 month old, but the owners provided baby gates that gave us peace of mind for the whole week. The owners attended to all of our needs and arranged several tours for us and the kids. We took the short walk down the road to the beautiful Hermosa Beach. We left wondering how long we'd be able to resist coming back and wondering how we'll ever top this vacation.

Beautifully Simple!!

My children, ages 10 & 12, and I had an amazing time at Casa Flotanta. The house itself was beyond beautiful, in such a simple way. It was the best feeling in the world to wake up, open up all the doors and be one with nature. Dahlia and Jez were equally as beautiful as the house. They are both great souls who made us feel like family. Our experience here was life changing. We cannot wait to return!

Sleeping under the stars, above the canopy with the monkeys!

We were really lucky to be the first occupants of this unique, well situated property. Arriving after dark we had no concept of the surroundings and were welcomed in the morning to the distant call of howler monkeys. Stepping out on the balcony I was amazed by the sweeping view across the forest canopy to the surf and out to sea. What I consider to be the best beach in the area is a 5 minute walk down the road. It has beauty, great consistent surf, child friendly, rock pools, shade, fab sunsets. The close proximity to the house means that coming back for food, siesta etc is easy. we went dorado fishing and visited the Cabo Blanco national park. We found the open living space great for dining, playing with children and hosting a party. The pool is very welcome and secluded enough for the occasional skinny dip! The bedrooms are airy and private with aircon should you feel the need. Showering open to the forest background is a wonderfully liberating experience. While Santa Teresa is pretty laid back, there is something relaxing an special about being out of the main town surrounded by wildlife. There is a local shop 5 mins walk up the round and a vehicle would be a good idea to get to some of the restaurants, the nearest being the fantastic Kojis. I know my brother booked straight away for the the same time next year and I hope to be back soon enough.

Kanopi House = lifetime of unique and very happy memories.

The Kanopi House should be renamed this very long thing “Wow OMG is this really happening, am I really looking at this view, are the sheets really this good, are the beds this comfortable, WOW have I woken up and gone to heaven, is the Sun really coming up over the jungle, is the air this fresh, is it really true that im elevated 30 feet above the jungle floor above the “Canopy”, pinch me, the monkeys are back AGAIN, knock me over the head the waves are just perfect, im walking to the beach to ride those glassy rollers, no stop, do I have to walk 3 mins to the best beach I have ever been to, blow me im going for a swim after my surf - the swimming pool edge slips into the endless horizon – Blimey – this house is real and I really did rent it and my family and I had the best holiday of my life - House!!!!!!!!!” The Kanopi House is positioned in the most idyllic part of this haven, perched literally above the Canopy where you will be greeted every day by Howler Monkeys, parrots and an array of other birds and wildlife – this is untouched, undeveloped eco bliss at its best – a sanctuary to escape , relax and enjoy. The house is built on 30 foot solid Steel and cement stilts – i.e very very safe and high, it’s a huge architectural masterpiece – a statement of what shouldn’t really be possible. The elevation allows for incredible 360 degree views from the teak wrap around deck that surrounds the living space and bedrooms. The living room is HUGE, with big full size day beds covered in colorful very comfortable cushions. The kitchen is a professional chef spec’ed little number – I cooked for my family of 6 adults and 4 children who all stayed the 2 weeks over Xmas and New Year 2013 every day with ease. Every day Monica the” uber” cleaner arrives and politely and efficiently turns the mess from the day before back to a magazine shoot ready house! No expense has been spared kitting the house out, The owners Jez and Dalia are an utter delight and when furnishing the house elected to go the extra mile to ensure the very best mattresses and sheets were bought to ensure every night is like the best nights sleep of your life. One of the key benefits of this elevation of the Kanopi house is the air – we didn’t turn the air con on once. There is no other house like this in Costa Rica or even the world – its inspired, and if you don’t live to have stayed in the Kanopi House you may passed up on an experience that has made me the happiest I have ever been.
