The property is beautiful! The view of the lake is very nice and relaxing. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room in the house for our 10 guests.

This is our second time staying here. It is close to great hiking and the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. It is a beautiful property! Everything is very clean and comfortable. We enjoy fishing on the lake and the very nice fire pit area. The owner checked in to make sure everything was good. He is friendly and you can tell he takes great pride in the property. We will definitely go back!

Perfect getaway for a group of longtime friends! The host was amazing! Helpful and communicative. The property was beautiful with private lake and ponies! Also close to hiking and the wine trail which we really enjoyed. Fully stocked kitchen and conversation by the fire pit rounded out our days. Would recommend!

The property was beautiful and felt so quiet and secluded, which is exactly what we were looking for! Right on the wine trail, literally 4 minutes from Star View. Brian was so kind and made sure to stay in touch in case we needed anything, and the biggest bonus was the mini horses!

We really loved the property. Especially the lake that was on the property that came with life jackets and water sports equipment. It really allowed us to enjoy the full extent of the property. Only gripe is I believe the property listed there were 3 full bathrooms and in reality there were two and a half bathrooms. We made it work but it would have been nice to know there was a half baths. Schedule shower time for big groups!

The home is as photographed. The shower mentioned in previous comments is the only issue, but not so much for the guests as it is for the owners. The floor gets very wet.Beautiful property, clean, clear pond and convey location for So. Illinois, right in the middle of needful things and wineries. Definitely would return. Perfect for large families, group of couples getaway or just a private hideout for a quiet long weekend.

We had a wonderful relaxing girls weekend in this lovely home in the country. Check in is super easy. Brian, the owner, is very communicative and easy to reach. This charming old home was just the spot for us to relax and get together with friends. The kitchen is spacious. Beds are very comfortable. The view from the porch is spectacular at sunset. We loved visiting the little horses every evening. Location is just minutes from several wineries and Makanda for shopping. We will definitely be back!

Great house for our big group!

We loved staying at this house. The host was a great communicator and helpful before we even arrived. The animals were perfect, there was tons of outdoor hanging out space (boats, chairs, fire pit, decks, etc.), and inside was exactly as advertised. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Inside had great AC for the hot summer months and a huge kitchen table that the whole family could fit at.

Perfect for a family reunion

This 5 bedroom home was perfect for our family get together of 12 people ages 2-73. It was hot so we especially enjoyed the little beach with kayaks and paddle boards and fishing from the dock. By the way the fishing was great - caught lots of bass and blue gill. The owner, Brian was very easy to communicate with and his advice to us was HAVE FUN and let him know if there is anything he can do to improve the experience.

Cousins weekend

Loved staying at the farmhouse! It was nice to have a safe place to visit and we were all together. The only issue was there were no bathroom upstairs and most of us was was over 50 , we needed a closer bathroom for those who self upstairs. Overall the stay was wonderful. Thank you for renting to us.

Great house and location!

We rented this house for 4 people for a short girls getaway on the wine trail. The house was very comfortable, plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their own space. Bedding was all clean and comfortable. We loved the little lake and spent one day sunning on the dock and the other day going to a couple of the close by wineries. The location on the wine trail is great. We would absolutely come back to this property!

Beautiful Property

I can’t tell you how many times we said “what a beautiful location” this weekend! It is truly stunning! We enjoyed use of the lake and the many kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boats they had. We also enjoyed feeding the miniature horses apples. The house is clean, comfortable and well stocked. Plenty of room! Close to the wine trail, Giant City and Carbondale. The host Brian was very friendly and checked to make sure everything was good upon checkin. All around great experience! We will be back!

Friends weekend

The only complaint is the bathroom situation! A lot of us 60+ use the bathroom through the night and the all bathrooms on 1st floor makes it more difficult for the 3 bedrooms upstairs! We dealt!

Fabulous Farmhouse

Our extended family of 11 spent the weekend at the Farmhouse. The rooms are large especially the kitchen where we gathered for meals and games. Large patio door of the kitchen allow watching the dock and pond. Geese,,egrets, hawks, and deer were spotted. The Farmhouse was clean throughout. 3 large bedrooms upstairs had their own air conditioners, and everyone slept well. Two big bathrooms had showers with plenty of hot water. Every bed was comfortable. Plus the kitchen had top of the line appliances & every imaginable tool. Brian found us a bus and driver to escort us to the wineries. Our host made the weekend the best. Finally, we used the fire pit each evening while we star gazed. The firepit has plenty of seating and we made the most of it. We'd stay at the Farmhouse again for sure!

Excellent Property!!

The Farmhouse was the best! Provided many onsite fun with opportunities to enjoy water sports, such as kayaking, paddle boats, rafts, and paddle boards. Also fishing if you would like. There are 3 lovely mini ponies that love to be spoiled on! And lots of wildlife to see. The house was clean with the perfect amount of space for our group! We loved enjoying a movie each night in the tv room. It was a joy and relaxing weekend at the farmhouse! We can’t wait to spend time here again!
