SCAM LIKLEY I wish I could give negative stars really! Paid for over a week in advance, got the message that they accepted, and would give check in details a few days before. The day of (night before thanksgiving) no response from host hours before check in. We travel several hours to get there. Sitting in vehicles about 2 hours after check in host finally tells us the stay has been cancelled due to a broken heater! We have over 8 people and 4 babies all traveled from out of town! We had to spend over 4k extra to find another place last minute, no help from VRBO, or the host. READ OTHER REVIEWS FIRST! Wish I would have!!!

My family and I along with two of our friends rented this cabin for a weekend getaway. We had just laid our sister to rest who had passed of suspicious circumstances. We wanted a chance to relax and grieve amongst each other in a peaceful setting. It is very unfortunate that we were met with such a disappointing stay. I want to preface my statements by saying the host was always polite in his communication although it was delayed. The house is not being maintained to the VRBO standard I am accustomed to. I am not sure if the host pays for cleaning or property management services, or if he manages these aspects directly, but if he does pay for services I believe he is entitled to some sort of refund and by extension myself. He did warn of HVAC issues and not being able to have them rectified as stated in similar review but informed he would refund us one night if we experienced any types of issues with the heat. We did, and later found the thermostat wasn’t working because it required new batteries which we went ahead and purchased and installed. The kitchen and other areas of the house needed deep cleaning. We were able to clean the stove and hood which had a lot of dust and grim. There was blood stains on the one of the basement beddings which we were able to get out with a wash. We also noticed many other items either broken or not in working order. I hope these things can get addressed as the property has so much potential. It is very disappointing.
We saw many items like this around the house that were broken. I am unsure if the host was even aware of most of them. I suggest taking photos. We will not be staying here again.
Not sanitary.
This was after we cleaned the stove and it still needs work, but I had already utilized a few hours away from my family to get it clean enough to use.
Glass under the fire pit which was also not in working order. Disappointing, no smores for us.

Property has not been maintained. Light bulbs out, door handles broken, closet door off, drive way in disrepair. The heating and AC units were not working. Although we did not need them the manager said they would have them repaired but never communicated further. I would not recommend this property in good conscience. Although I expressed these same issues upon departure the manager ignored my greivance in his response.

End of summer stay

Overall, we enjoyed the place. Hot tub was nice and the setup for cooking smores was good too. Only downside was we had some issues with a couple of the mini splits not working, and the Wi-fi didn't work either. We booked last minute and would for sure go back.

The issues with this property are numerous. We should’ve known to not even check in when we had to ask for the check in details at check in time and have VRBO contact the host. The house was not cleaned. All the floors were sticky and dust was everywhere. We had to rewash all the dishes before using them. The “clean” towels were folded up wet and required rewashing. The table was sticky. Clearly, no one had cleaned this property, as further evidenced by the condom wrapper referenced in an earlier review still being present (photo attached).The HVAC system did not work at all. We reached out to the host and he said he would try to get someone out, but never did. The spiral stairs are in poor condition and flex every time you walked up and down them. Listing was not accurate and did not include the VERY steep driveway that is not maintained and requires a high clearance vehicle. Not definitely not a driveway. You wanna be driving up for the first time in the dark. The house was not in great condition (broken doors, flooring issues and missing smoke detectors). Also, when messaging the host about whether or not HVAC was coming, he asked if a showing could take place because the home is on the market. We were not at all informed that the place we were staying in was on the market. Needless to say the answer was a definite no.This goes without saying, we highly do not recommend you stay at this place. We wish zero stars was an option.

Very unclean. Large amount of mold in fridge. Had to clean fridge so we could use it. Pots and pans was dirty. The bed sheets were dirty. There was dirt in the bed. There was a used condom wrapper in the night stand. Very large pothole in driveway that you can’t see until you hit it cause driveway is so steep. Internet wouldn’t work. When I did reach out he did respond quickly. The good. It was close to town. And had great view from deck, and enjoyed the hot tub. It was fairly close to hiking trails and attractions.
