Great host! Very responsive, helpful and friendly. Our stay started the day after Christmas and we were very pleasantly surprised that there was a beautifully decorated Christmas tree still up for us to enjoy! Nice touch.

This is a great house on a large, private lot. The kids loved the rope swing, trampoline, and treehouse. The porch was a great spot to have dinner and enjoy the evening. The house was clean and great for our group. The host was very helpful and gave us a ton of great info about the house. The check in process was easy. Looking forward to staying here again!

This place is amazing, it sits in a perfect wooded setting in the historic town of Columbia. The house was beautiful, spacious and well maintained. Its on a dirt road but no one had any issues even in two wheel drive. Winter maybe another story. The property was very picturesque. We spent every morning outside on the deck. It felt very tranquil. This place made our vacation. We will definitely be rebooking!

We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet cabin. As others have mentioned, the owner is fantastic with communication and clearly cares about making sure everything goes smoothly for both guests and the property.We had four adults and four kids, and everyone had a comfortable stay. My mom has limited mobility, but she was able to manage the steps and felt comfortable in her first-floor room.The windows in the living room let in beautiful morning light, and the TV was easy to use. The kids loved all the fun features in the loft and the yard. We even found a folding table in the closet and used it for puzzles, which was a nice bonus!The only small things we missed were a baking sheet and measuring spoons, but we made do without any trouble.When our kids accidentally left some belongings—including wallets and IDs—in a drawer, the owner was quick to respond and went above and beyond to make sure everything was returned before our flight home. We truly appreciated that level of care.

Cabin getaway

Our family loved staying at this cabin! It was perfect for our two young kids with a treehouse, trampoline, and swing as well as plenty of space to run around. We went boating on New Melones lake and explored Columbia. The owner was very helpful and detailed when we had questions. Highly recommend to anyone staying in this area especially those with kids!

Home away from home!

We loved the location and seclusion! The cabin is well appointed and maintained. There is an obvious pride of ownership by the Host. Communication with the Host was outstanding and pleasant! Will certainly come back to this cabin again!

Peaceful and Relaxing

We had a wonderful time at the Columbia cabin. It's the perfect location - only about a mile to Main St. but far enough away that you feel like you're in your own peaceful haven. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Our kids loved the treehouse and the trampoline! Communication with John was great; he was very kind and called ahead to give us helpful tips on navigation and the surrounding area. Thanks for having us!

Cozy cabin in Columbia

Owner was very responsive and accommodating; very helpful and nice. Cabin was cozy and spacious. Grounds were beautiful. Lots of deer, turkeys and quails. Very close to Columbia.

A quiet getaway for the first

We wanted to get out of town for the first and this was just right. Nice property and the quiet we were seeking. The owner was very clear about everything and we had no issues or problems at all. We gladly recommend staying here and I’m sure we will again!

Lovely house in Gold Country

My family (mom, bother, sister in law and 10yr old nephew) all met in Gold Country this year for thanksgiving. We had a great time and this house worked really well for us. It was big enough to hang out and had a big piece of land all around (it's right next to state park). It was comfortable and the wood burning stove (the main source of heat)n made everything cozy. It was fun to see the wild turkeys in the morning! The kitchen was pretty well equipped and we brought the necessities for making a Thanksgiving meal. John was super communicative, responsive and helpful, from directions to the house, how to use the TV and other house things. He also gave suggestions for seeing the towns nearby. I loved exploring Columbia, Sonora and Murphy's. I'd love to go back to this house again when we're in that area.

Columbia Log Cabin Get-away

We rented this house to show my niece and nephews the history of Gold Country. The location was great for this purpose.The house was stocked with everything we needed. The kids loved the trampoline and the ping pong table. We also love to cook and it was a great kitchen our culinary needs. I would recommend staying here.

Beautiful Nature Retreat

An amazing peaceful and quiet property in the middle of nature! This property served as a great "home base" for our family of 4, plus 2 dogs, to explore Gold Country over the 4th of July week. The house kept us cool and comfortable even during triple digit heat. John is an amazing host and is truly invested in making sure you enjoy your stay! As other reviews have mentioned, there are a lot of burs this time of the year, and we brought a "fur rake" with us that was a lifesaver for us and our dogs.

Family trip

Me, my husband, and nephew took a trip to this beautiful cabin. Let me just say this place was so wonderful. It was quiet, relaxing, just really nice. We can not wait to visit again. Also being so close to Columbia State Park was so cool, it brought me back to when I would visit with dad as a young child.

Glorious Getaway Again!

John's home and property are a slice right out of paradise. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. This was our 3rd stay at this wonderful home. We absolutely love the property and the privacy. Nothing is more amazing than having coffee on the deck, listening to the birds and watching nature in action. It truly rejuvenates your soul! A Slice of Heaven adjacent to Columbia State Park

A beautiful home just a few minutes drive from the downtown area of Columbia State Park. The owner was kind enough to call and chat about the property, which made us feel very comfortable. Lots of living space including a loft with a pool table and ping pong table. My son and I had quite a ping pong tournament. My daughter had a headache after touring Columbia and enjoyed a soak in the claw foot tub. The owner allowed our dog to come, so we enjoyed a gorgeous walk through the state park next the the property. The home is very clean and well maintained. It’s obvious the owners take pride in this beautiful home. Check in and check out was easy and reasonable. We definitely recommend this home!

Getaway in the woods!

This cabin is super cool, spacious, resourced (pool table, ping pong), and provided a wonderful atmosphere for our friend reunion. The owner was super helpful and communicative. Would return next time I'm looking for a gold country getaway.

Fun location and beautiful property

Very cool house, great property, even has a resident cat! Dogs are allowed but with restrictions, make sure to ask in advance as we didn't know until the day before. Otherwise a nice stay in a fun area.
