  • Located on a quiet cul-de-sac with both ocean and lake views, Paws and Reflect is the perfect Oceanside retreat for you and your family (your dog is welcome too!). This 7 bedroom, 5 full and 2 half bath beautifully decorated home will give you the feeling of serenity the moment you arrive. Sheets, towels and bath mats are provided.

    The home features 6 flat screen cable HD TVs, 4 HD flat screen Smart TV's (streaming/Netflix only), movies, board games, a rec room with a pool table and a foosball table, 2 refrigerators, ice maker, wet bar, WiFi, outdoor furniture, 2 charcoal grills and an iPod docking station.

    Your family will enjoy the various activities available which include spending the day at the beach (just 200 yards to the access), swimming in the 12'x24' private pool and soaking in the hot tub. You can also go fishing in the lake, playing a game of tennis or a round of golf at the Currituck Club.

    Paws and Reflect is located in the beautiful Corolla community of Ocean Sands, convenient to many wonderful restaurants and shops. Less than one mile to grocery store, Harris Teeter and golfing at the Currituck Club. If you are seeking attractions, you are minutes away from the Currituck Lighthouse and The Whalehead Club. Up for adventure? Try a 4x4 Wild Horse Tour of Carova Beach just a few miles north!

    Lower Level: King Bedroom w/Cable TV has private entrance to shared Full Bath, this Bath Opens to Hallway, Bedroom w/Pyramid Bunk Bed and Twin (Netflix/Smart TV HDTV only), Rec Room w/Pool Table, 55" 4K Smart TV, Bluetooth Stereo, Full Size Refrigerator and Minibar, Slider to Deck and Gated Pool. Powder Room Accessible from Pool Deck.

    Mid Level: King Master w/Slider to Deck (w/Cable TV), King Bedroom (Netflix/Smart HDTV only) connects to Full Bathroom which also serves bunk room, King Master Bedroom (Netflix/Smart HDTV only), Bedroom w/2 Bunk Sets (Netflix/Smart HDTV only), Living Area w/Flat Screen Cable TV, Slider to Deck, the Second Level Deck overlooks the Pool.

Great stay at Paws and Reflect

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, great stay. Took refrigerators a while to cool off. Way too close to other neighbors. Big plus for lakeside fishing, pickleball court, easy walk to beach and the outside bathroom!!!

An amazing spot for people, and for Spot, too!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had plenty of room for our 14 person group! The bedrooms were great, and there was enough space for people to find a quiet spot whenever they didn’t want to hang out in the great room— even our big dog, found his own cozy corner! Everyone loved the pool and hot tub and beach access was easy. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals for our large group. It was a wonderful break, and we would definitely rent this property again!

Perfect

This is a pet friendly house so its expected to me that there may be some pet hair and stains on the carpet. Completely fine. Other than that the place was very clean. The location was even closer to the beach than we expected witu two access points within a four minute walk. Yes, we timed it. The pool area was perfect. We couldnt figure out the ice makers either in the fridge or on the counter. Some instructions would be nice as we ran out of ice after the first day. Overall we were super happy with our stay.

We were very disappointed with the house entirely. The outside was dirty. Nothing like the pictures. The whole inside was filthy. We had to clean as we used the rooms. The carpets were so dirty our socks showed the filth. There was dust on walls and ceiling fans. Under the counter wine cooler and microwave was grimy. There were bugs. The master bedroom headboard had nails coming through it towards the mattress direction. There were several dresser drawers that almost fell out when pulled opened. The faucet fell off taking a shower in one of the bathrooms on the middle floor. We had connection issues with some of the tv's. There were not enough utensils to eat with or cook with. Pots and Pans are old and worn out. The living space is very small for a seven-bedroom house, and the couches were worn out and uncomfortable. We had to contact the reality office the first three days out of our five days stay. I would never refer this house to anybody. The worst thing when renting a house out of town, if the condition is horrible, there's not a lot you can do and nowhere else you can go. Our money was already spent on this house, and the reality company wasn't much help. You are pretty stuck with the nightmare. Just as we were. My sister's made a comment that the house and its furnishings were raggedy. I couldn't have said that any better. I will never rent this house or even a house from Beach Reality of NC, Inc.

My retirement get away

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While my 9 friends and I enjoyed the house, the pool, the numerous balconies, and the location, we were not satisfied with the cleanliness and calls/texts to the office went unanswered or unaddressed. The house itself is very large and the 9 of us were very comfortable. Then amenities were great, the blue tooth stereo was a plus. Now for the beware: the outdoor areas were not addressed by the cleaners. After over an hour, I had the numerous pool toys left behind in one area,and the outdoor showers, and the patio clear of sand. I don't believe the patio had been washed down all season. Every trash can was full. Not only full but one had maggots. With trash day being Saturday, I can't believe that the cleaners would not have made sure that the trash was put out. I do not know when the floor was last mopped but it was not before we came in. Not all of the bathrooms were cleaned. We called the office, waited for the cleaners who never showed up, and were give a new shower curtain to replace the moldy one by the maintenance crew who were servicing another house. Yes, I did address these issues with the office as well as whether I needed to stop to check in. I was told that if I was not getting pool passes that I did not need to check in. Walking in to NO toilet paper was a little jaring. The Welcome package of paper products, soap, etc was non existent. I called the office and was told that they did not leave those at the rentals that I had to stop in the office to get it. Went to the office and was given pool passes... no package. So for size, location, ambiance this is a great place. For cleanliness, be ready to clean. For response from the office...

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First I want to say we had a wonderful vacation with our family, friends and of course our fur babies. This house was in a good location and enjoyed the lake views and the kids were able to kayak and paddle board in the lake. We also enjoyed having a pool in the back yard and are accustomed to having a pool. The property description was accurate regarding the location and amenities. Very relaxing vacation. For the downside...The house was not clean upon arrival. The shower curtain liner downstairs had a significant amount of mold on them which was disgusting and black mold which had to be present for a significant amount of time. The Keurig machine leaked which was later replaced by maintenance. Maintenance also changed out the shower curtain liner and took a picture of the amount of mold on in which he too also found disgusting. Maintenance also had to unclog the downstairs bathtub/shower as it would not drain. Maintenance also had to change the flood light bulbs. This was on Monday and check in was on Saturday. There were also ants in the kitchen and bedroom and family member woke up with ants on her. On Wednesday evening the stove/over stopped working and the emergency maintenance number was called and I was informed that maintenance would be calling. I still have not received a call from maintenance to date and have been home from vacation for a week at the time of this review. Anyhow, we later identified that somehow the stove/oven managed to come unplugged so that is concerning for a safety hazard. I appreciate that linens and towels were included with the rental but only 2 sets of towels were provided for each bedroom since one bedroom has 4 bunk beds. We are also thankful for the washer and dryer however, it took multiple cycles for the dryer to dry clothes. We would consider staying at this location in the future if maintenance issues and most definitely the cleaning issues are resolved.

Not Worth the Money

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family has gone to the OBX annually for about 40 years and, although for the last 20 years we have stayed in Whalehead, we always selected a different house each year just to try something different. This year, due to the high cost of rentals, we elected to stay in the Ocean Sands community, which was a bit more affordable for us, yet still quite costly. With regard to the community itself, although there was a very nice community pool and tennis/pickleball courts, the houses were very packed together which then resulted in a very packed beach experience which was not to our liking. Although we were able to enter our house earlier than expected, once we were in it was not cleaned to our satisfaction. The floors were very dirty as were the rugs in the living room and the bedrooms. The kitchen table needed to be cleaned when we arrived. The house in general seems to need a good deep cleaning. Although the bedroom space was just what we needed and the beds were comfortable, the general living space was not big enough for us. We did not have enough comfortable seating in the living room for the eight adults that we had with us. Finally, the pool area was quite cramped and was literally next to the pool of the house behind ours. We felt like we were practically on top of the house behind ours to the point that we could hear what those people were talking about when they were outside enjoying their pool/hot tub. We would not stay there again, nor would we recommend it to any of our friends or family. It was not worth the price that we payed.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Worst home we have ever rented at OBX. Horrible condition. It is obvious the owner of this home has no pride in ownership. It is outdated, run down, and not at all well maintained. Appliances in home were either not working or well past time to be replaced. Odd mismatch of kitchen items. For instance, 3 rolling pins but no measuring cups. Carpet is like paper in the bedrooms. No privacy in this neighborhood/area. Extremely close to other homes. I understand a dog-friendly home is not going to be pristine, but this is just lack of care and attention by the owners. I paid WAY TOO MUCH for this rundown home. I would never, ever stay here again. Extremely disappointed.

Reviewer Comments: the house was ok but for the price of the rental there were many issues, the area around the pool was a overgrown with grass and weeds and in general a mess, the property was not clean when we moved in, the front door was rusted and sticking the whole stay. We contacted the relator about an issue with the fridge when we first got there and it took a day and a half for them to actually come out to address the issue. We have been coming to the outer bank for years and this was the worst property we have ever rented and the reality company was far below what we are used to .

Thanksgiving at the Beach

Everything worked, was a short two block walk to beach access and a path around the lake is literally one house away. There are tennis courts, one of which was marked for pickle ball. Loved The House

The house was as described and my family and I loved it. It looked and smelled clean. However the house could benefit from a deep cleaning, especially the floors on the top level. The main downside was the pool area being taken over by flies.

We got together with our 5 children and our 4grandchildren and my 80 yr old mother and brother and had the best time just going to beach and hanging by pool!! We also decided to get married on the beach after being together 24 yrs !!! Great time !

Great house & pool near lake, not long walk to the beach.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Exactly as advertised. Good location near grocery stores, beach. Beach Rental was the best experience we've had in 30 years of renting: constantly informative, always responsive, so easy to work with.

However when we attempted to use the community pool passes the pool manager would not let us enter as she claimed the owner had not paid for passes. overall a great week at the beach and a perfect home and weather.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Arriving traffic conditions were torture. Traffic management officer at stop signs and lights could have helped. Instead in Duck NC they just stayed in their cars staring at the mess. 10 miles in 1 hour ! House was mostly clean. Dryer lint allover laundry area with old dryer that gave off burning smell unless a really light load was used. Could not take a bath in my room because shower/tub water control was stuck up for shower only. Broken toilet holder in another room. Half the out side lights were out. Including flood lights for pool area. Left over dog **** on right side of pool area. Pool light is stillout. Not a good experience. That traffic alone will keep me from coming back.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was dirty upon arrival. In fact spent several hours cleaning the property inside and out. The kitchen floor was dirty with black dirt on our feet after walking around. The outside pool area was dirty and over grown. We spent an additional 2 hours cleaning leaves from last fall, trash, and and organizing the chairs. Due to this, Beach Realty should refund our cleaning fee.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall great stay! The house is less than a 5 min walk to the beach on a street with little traffic and a view of a small pond. The furnishings are a bit dated and there are small things that would make it nicer/more convenient. The dishwasher had issues while we were there that they fixed within 48 hours. The couch is a sectional but none of the sections stay together anymore. The porch swing fell out of the rafters on our last day as well. It didn't occur to me to look into the grill situation before we left, but the house only has a camp site like grill with no lid. Having a real grill, coal or gas, would have been a huge plus. So while its perfectly comfortable it could use a few updates here and there.

Not what we were used to.....

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The bath towels that I'd order were not at the house, of course we didn't notice till it was bath time the first night, made the call the next morning & went to pick-up our 12 sets of bath towels...the top bunk beds main board was broke, so we couldn't use it. they did come out the next afternoon to repair it,but it needed more than he had with him. the wash & dryer were rusted & it took 3/4 hours to dry a load of laundry.The stove looked dated-like it was from a thrift store-but it did work well.The pool guy came in the middle of the week, when he left we found a paper that was checked that he'd cleaned the pool, he had done nothing at all to the pool or hot tub, we were there, so we know.All in all we had a good time, there were 11 of us-2 families.

Wonderful time in this nice home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was such an easy process with the keyless entry. The home was super nice and very clean. It is super close to the beach and the pool and hot tub are nice too! There are many shops close by such as Harris Teeter (open 24 hours) one way and then the other way are many shops and restaurants. I would say that 4 DVD's does not make a DVD library!! So bring some along with you! Also there was an XBox game console but no games. There were a few days that it was chilly, so it would have been nice to have info on the fireplace so we could have turned it on. These are very minor complaints. We had a fabulous time and it was super comfortable. Go to Kitty Hawk Kites in Duck to do the Jet Ski tours with Pringles. We had so much fun we went back for a 2nd time! The restaurant La Dolce Vida was wonderful - make a reservation!! The check out was super easy as well. It was really an effortless check in and check out!! Can't get better than that!!

Great Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this house was great with only a short walk to the beach. We had 4 families with a total of 17 people and the house accommodated us well! A few recommendations would be for the house to have a better entertainment area for the kids and additional TV's in the bedrooms. Overall, a great experience!!

late summer vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 2 weeks in Corolla, distance to beach was okay, even though this was a dog friendly home we were unable to sleep in master bedroom due to excessive dog hair on bed linens including mattress pad, comforter, shams and bed skirt, notified agency who sent someone out next day she removed linens and used lint roller to remove dog hair and replaced comforter with older one no shams or bed skirt was replaced states this is all she had, had to vacuum all of floors and there was cobwebs in all corners, previous guest did not have trash picked up so there was trash in can which had maggots and flies in it can was left in front of home, which caused flies to continuously attempt to come inside during stay. Picture shows a fairly nice view but homes have since been built so view not so nice. Great that stay included bed linens and towels, wish it had included dish cloth & towel. Don't think would stay at this property again for the price of stay expected home to be much cleaner..
