The check in/out process was very easy. The house was clean and bigger on the inside that what I had expected by the pictures. The kitchen is nice and fully stocked with what you would need to cook meals. My husband and I mainly were out back in the pool, which was really nice. They do have a gas grill to use and a nice volleyball court. There is no covered patio in the back yard to get out of sun during the day, but afternoons you get shade from the beautiful oak trees. We did see deer the first night at the back of the property.

Fishing Weekend

We loved the house and the pool is perfect. However, there was no hot water downstairs all weekend. We told a property manager about it on Thursday, nothing was done. We reported it again on Friday, nothing. No response yet over two months later. Would I stay again, yes but we need hot water for the amount of money spent.

Great stay getaway!

Came with family to enjoy the summer sun at rockport! Place is close to many restaurants and shops, 10 minutes away from rockport beach and many many fishing piers! Will return in the future! Best place for great value! The on-site private pool is great to cool of from hot sun! Overall mermaids haven is a haven for all!

Fathers Day Weekend

Home everything and more

We really enjoyed this home. It had a king bed on the ground floor that worked well for us since we have a senior dog. The pool was the cherry on top for us, combine that with the view and its an awesome stay!

Disappointed

We have stayed at this house 4 times now. Ive never once had a complaint, however this time was bad. Sheets were dirty, I had to wash them, there were no extra clean sheets in the home. Pool was dirty, then on the day before we check out, pool guy shows up at 7 am and pours so much cleaner in the pool it was not safe to use. We killed several rroaches, there were no cleaning supplies just to clean up the small messes that needed to be cleaned and there wasnt enou4gh trash bags. I am not letting my stay there this time form my opinion on the property, because the other 3 times were amazing. However, for the money we paid I did expect a little more cleanliness.

Beautiful home but had a few problems

The home was beautiful and the furniture was so comfortable and absolutely gorgeous. There was lots of activities to keep everyone entertained. However, We rented this home because it says it is handicap assessable( I am 100% disable veteran) the home has many small drop offs from room to room and the only handicap bathroom has no shower and there are no rails or handles for commode. Also when we arrived Wed afternoon the pool was a hot mess! At least 40 dead frogs and the pool was slimy! Could not swim.. however the pool man came Thursday and added chemicals which helped the slim but we were continuously fishing frogs out of the pool. Hundreds of frogs! My granddaughter was so upset they were dying she left a float in there in hopes they could get on it. Im not sure how to fix that problem being that its so close to wildlife. Also you might leave a note somewhere saying that the lawn folks and pool man come on Thursday mornings. It was alarming when a white panel van with a masked man jumped out and ran to the back yard. The lawn people left the water hose out all the way down the sidewalk. Could be a liability for you. Also on our arrival the house was way to hot and took all night to cool it off. Need to set thermostat lower and get some blinds. I feel that this home has so much potential and so many things to offer just need to work the kinks out. Good luck in the future.

The house is wonderful

We had a really good time at Mermaids Haven. The house has EVERYTHING you need. The beds are very comfortable. The pool was clean. Only DOWNSIDE was the thermostat would automatically change to 78° at night making for a very sweaty and restless night. Would stay again (only in the fall)

This is a beautiful property but do not rent.

We loved the property but the management of this property was poor. I had an email confirming that curtains and blinds had been installed in the whole house. Upon arrival, there were no curtains or blinds on any of the downstairs windows. It took about 5 hours to cool the house down. We had to tact towels and sheets over all the downstairs windows. The back yard had not been mowed and the pool was dirty. We contacted the management and they sent out pool guy and someone to mow the yard. When I complained about anything, the manager made excuses and was very condescending. She acted as though I should be grateful for fixing the problems when all that should have been done before our arrival. The whole experience really put a damper on our trip. The property is beautiful though and just needs some upgrades. We would not rent this property again and would not recommend to our friends or family.

Home away from home

Easy. Everything went so smooth. Responses were fairly quick. Pool, deck, plenty of yard, inside and outside games, towels, fully stocked kitchen, extra throw blankets, back balcony a plus and a quiet family neighborhood. Even saw a few deer. Perfect. All it was missing was blinds or curtains,but seems it was recently renovated. Will definitely like to come back.
