Red Dawn Beached Cargo is a bold, red steel container home in a small Port Aransas community of specially designed homes built from shipping containers and sustainable materials. Outside, it is all clean lines and industrial edge. Inside, it is warm, bright and quiet, with 1,800+ square feet, four bedrooms, three and a half baths and a heated private plunge pool you can use any night of the year. Sleeps 10.

Mornings are the reason for the name. Coffee on the 450 square foot deck while the sky turns pink, a slow walk of about 1,000 steps to the sand, then back for a swim before anyone else is awake. By afternoon the group splits between the pool, the hammock and a golf cart run into Old Town. By evening everyone ends up around the big kitchen island again.

THE LIVING SPACE
The open floor plan joins the living room, dining area and kitchen into one bright, social space, with windows throughout pulling in natural light. There is room for ten to spread out without anyone feeling crowded, and plenty of seating for movie night or board games. Central air and heat, ceiling fans and a whole-house humidity system keep things comfortable in every season, and the insulated container walls keep coastal wind and street noise outside.

THE KITCHEN
New, upscale appliances and a large island with extra seating make this a kitchen people actually want to cook in. You will find a refrigerator and freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker with coffee to start, toaster and blender. Pots and pans, baking sheets, dishes and silverware, wine glasses and cooking basics (oil, salt and pepper) are all stocked. The dining table seats the whole group, and the island handles breakfast for the early risers.

THE BEDROOMS
- Bedroom 1: King bed with private ensuite bathroom
- Bedroom 2: Queen bed with private ensuite bathroom
- Bedroom 3: Queen bed, sharing a Jack and Jill bathroom with Bedroom 4

Every room has room-darkening shades for sleeping in after a long beach day, plus hangers, clothing storage, and extra pillows and blankets.

THE BATHROOMS
Three full bathrooms, one with a bathtub for little ones, plus a powder room off the main living area so guests are never waiting. Fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel and a hair dryer are provided. An outdoor shower keeps the sand outside where it belongs.

OUTDOOR LIVING
The deck is the heart of the house: big enough for a full group dinner, with outdoor furniture, sun loungers and a hammock for the afternoon nap. The private plunge pool is heated and available 24 hours a day, so a midnight swim in February is on the table. An electric BBQ grill with utensils handles burgers, fish and fajitas, and the grassy backyard gives kids room to run.

FOR FAMILIES
A pack 'n play, high chair, children's dinnerware, children's books and toys, and a shelf of board games are ready when you arrive, so you can pack lighter.

LAUNDRY AND WORK
Laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, plus an iron, makes longer stays easy. Wifi and TV. Stays of 28 nights or more are welcome, which makes this a comfortable winter base on the island.
