Good Time

Place was a little run down, but clean. Pool was also clean and the kids loved it! Good location away from the crazy, but still close enough to get around in a golf cart. We had a good time, no major complaints.

Great place to stay. Pool was nice to have. Hallway floor needs repaired, was about to give out and became a caution but an easy Im fix sure. Good spot.

Couldn’t find light switches easily. Stairways not well lit…lots of bulbs out. Pool was fantastic. Very clean. Furniture very vintage but mostly comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Very quiet and not too far from beach. It was nice.

50th Anniversary celebration

Was a fantastic weekend stay! Pool was excellent as in law’s can’t stay out in the sun too long! So went to beach for couple of hours and the rest of the day we spent at pool! Part of the pool is under the top deck of the house! This provided shade if one needed to get out of the sun, but you can still be in the pool!

Stay

A good but older property. The second floor was not level in one corner. I would think that should be addressed. The stairs to the second floor are extremely narrow and hazardous. There is a warning sign on the main floor. Not a good choice for seniors.

Lovely home

The property was a great place to get away for the weekend. Our teen daughter was having so much fun in the pool that she didn’t even care about the beach. We chose this property because of the pool and pets policy. It was spotless, no signs of past pets. As clean as it was, it did smell like mold in the entry but I just chalk that up to the climate there. The only other thing I would like to mention is a soft spot on the floor of the kitchen. I would not hesitate to book again!

Needs work

The house was perfect for the 3 of us, but definitely needs some work. We did not have hot water during our stay because the hot water heater was not hooked up. Also, this is a pet friendly property, but there is NO grass in the backyard. Not a deal breaker, but my dogs would have preferred at least a small patch of grass.

Nice stay overall, with a few minor problems

Nice house...very well kept, but had trouble the whole time with the wifi. Also had trouble with the lighting by the pool. There isnt a switch, only a plug that we found hidden behind a chair at the upper deck. Even at that, it was only half the lighting. No major problems though...would go back for the price.

My family can’t wait to get back to Blue Buoy

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’m worried that if I tell everyone how terrific Blue Buoy is, I might not be able to get a reservation next time. Blue Buoy is adorable. We found the place well stocked, clean, and cozy. The porch, small pool and balcony were highlights and we enjoyed a lot of time poolside. This place was even cuter than the pictures show. My only note of caution would be to mention that the stairs up to the bedrooms are short narrow and should be approached with caution. Overall we loved it, the kids, dogs and I can’t wait to return.

Neat house, poor property management

My review is mostly focused on the property management. The house is fine, a bit old and some of the flooring feels like it's going to drop out from beneath you. Like a lot of reviews say the house DEFINITELY needs a deep clean! The sink faucet didn't work, only the sprayer hose, I called Life in Paradise Vacation Rentals and they told me someone would be out, they never showed. I also called about getting the pool cleaned, it was murky and needed a good vacuum, guess what? They never showed. Also, after we check in some dude shows up at 7 pm the first day and says he's just there to clean the outside? He stays for 5-10 min and leaves, didn't clean anything. I asked if he was going to clean the pool or fix the sink and he told us someone would come by shortly. For the exorbitant price per night I expected better.

Overall not bad...

Ok, so honest review... 1) The house was pretty clean when we got there, not deep cleaned but with back to back bookings I know that is to be expected so not a big deal at all. Only downside is that aside from a vacuum and some dish soap there are no other cleaning supplies for you to use while you're there so I would recommend bringing some clorox wipes or spray with you if you're like me and like to tidy up throughout your stay. 2) The floors downstairs....there are several soft spots in the flooring, one was so bad we put an ottoman over it to avoid stepping on it, and while that isn't a deal breaker for us I feel like it definitely needs to be addressed and fixed by the property owners. 3) The furniture downstairs is comfortable but definitely needs a good cleaning, the chairs and ottoman are pretty stained and dingy. There is a rather large stain in the carpet in one of the bedrooms as well. Again, I know summers are booked so deep cleaning isn't feasible after every stay but carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning should be done fairly regularly. Also, none of the lamp shades in the house seemed to fit the bases properly which I thought was odd. 4) The pool was great! It was a little murky when we got there but all I had to do was call and they sent the pool company out within the hour to treat the water so that was really helpful and appreciated! The only drawback is there is pretty much no lighting down there in the evening/night time. There were string lights under the deck but they were very dim and only about half of them work so either some new brighter string lights or other lighting would be nice. We made the best of it though and had the kids dive for glowsticks. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The house definitely has it quirks and there is room for improvement, but hopefully those issues will get fixed in the future.
