Check in easy. Upon settling in at the house, dirty floors were noticed (dried contact lens on upstairs bedroom floor, and floors were sandy feeling -just not clean), began itching after siting on the couches and noticed a flea on our foot (weird). As the other guests arrived they were standing in the living area and seen a rat run from the couch we were sitting on to the stove in the kitchen. We had already prepared a meal and used the cooking utensils, pots and cooking sheet from the oven drawer ! Upon looking under the van/stove is when the rat droppings were seen and 2 rat traps! We found another "industrial" rat trap under the kitchen sink and 2 more outside the home under the carport. We then opened the sofa sleeper in the living room and the mattress was covered in rat droppings and urine stains. We took photos and videos of all, called Life in Paradise contact number and they sent a maintenance crew member over (by now this is about 8-9PM). We get relocated to another home they stated was comparable to this one with the heated pool, etc. Our main concern with this house is that it is listed as near the beach (couldn't see it), heated pool (extra fee) (which it was heated-but we didn't get to use it) and its listed with good reviews and appears to be clean. The house should NOT BE RENTED out until it it completely exterminated for the rodent issue which is very UNHEALTHY. They knew there was a rat problem because of the traps! A FULL REFUND was NOT ISSUED.
