Graduation celebration

The house was the perfect size for our group. Plenty of beds for everyone The kitchen was stocked well enough for our cooking needs...we could have used a few more kitchen towels since we cooked and washed dishes every night. We enjoyed the Blackstone grill outside, and the covered areas were great for the relaxing afternoons hanging out on the dock fishing and throwing the cast net.

Great property on the water.

Loved the house, plenty of bedroom for the whole family. My favorite part is all of the covered outdoor space downstairs. I will definitely be coming back in the summer time to enjoy all of that shade.

Great stay for large group

The space was great for a large group. Everybody had plenty of room. Being on the water was a plus and having the tree out back for some shade was welcome. The house was stocked well with all we needed with an additional refrigerator down stairs. Having the use of the kayaks was great and thoroughly enjoyed.

Perfect stay

The house was a great stay for our large immediate family, ranging from 70-6 years old. The host was very fast to answer all our questions. The house had very nice plush towels and plenty of them. The garage area was nice to hang out and play the yard games. The dock was nice to fish off of and the kayaks were a big plus. We would recommend the stay.

Fun at the Salty Pelican

A great house for a large group. We had four couples. Sitting outside by the canal was very pleasant. Rockport and Fulton were very close with all their excellent seafood. The house was very comfortable and well decorated. I stayed in the Flamingo Room. The steps are not too steep. We will stay in this house again!!

We loved our stay and the only problem we had was that the door code emailed to me the day of arrival did not work and we had to call to get that addressed.

Fabulous family vacation

Great place for a family vacation! Was able to check in earlier then the check in time. Home was very clean and had all the supplies needed from kitchen to swimming. Great bottom patio not sure if that is what you call that area but lots of room for all of us to enjoy. The grandchildren watch a little bit of TV and listen to music from the TV and with the patio table we were able to sit outside and grill and enjoy the swimming and fishing from the back yard. The grandchildren enjoyed the swimming, fishing, and playing the games that were there. We saw a dolphin within 20 minutes of arriving. Such a beautiful place. We loved it!! Definitely would recommend to everyone. I give it a 10/A+++. Thank you! Rebecca ( the mother and grandmother)

Overall, great stay!

We enjoyed our stay overall, especially the outdoor space, direct access to fishing, and the large dining table that fit all 15 of us. However, there were a few issues that made things less convenient. The kitchen could use better cookware and organization. Some details in the listing were inaccurate, like the bunkbed room layout. The propane tanks were empty upon arrival, the shower in one room leaked, and small things like no dish rack, limited dish towels, and a non-working light at the fish cleaning area added up. Despite these issues, the property has great potential with a little more attention to detail.

quiet and relaxing

This house is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so very little car traffic. When we arrived with our dog there were two others in the street to greet her. The owners were outside so the dogs were not just running loose. After a 3-hour car ride, our dog was happy to have someone to do zoomies with. It was a great start to a nice week. This house is very well equipped if you choose to cook. Nice deck in the back and you could always find shade. The master bed is very comfortable and firm so my usual backaches that accompany travel did not occur. Sounds silly but important to me. I think we have found our go to coast house. I have been looking for a while and it's not easy when you travel with your dog. I always appreciate people that are willing to share their home with dogs they don't know. It's also nice to walk into a home and have no idea a dog has been present. So, all you non dog folks, don't be put off that they are allowed. This is a very well kept home. We will be back for sure

Best Thanksgiving Ever

We met up with family, friends & grandchildren for Thanksgiving at the Salty pelican & had our best Thanksgiving ever. Relaxing, fishing, touring, walking & being grateful we were able to just be together. This is what Thanksgiving is all about. We had a shrimp boil instead of turkey and just sat “talking and visiting” with each other. On a couple days of our stay it rained but there was cornhole, hammocks & TV all under cover! The Salty Pelican really shown at night when all the colored mood lighting and fire pit were lit (and grands in bed). Blessings to the Whites for a beautiful home to vacation in.

Fantastic property with everything a large group needs!

Fantastic property! Large house with great open living, dining, kitchen, and outside spaces to gather. Everything we needed to cook several large meals. 5 people in our group own short term rentals and all marveled at how well appointed this place was, right down to the washer boards and cornhole boards. Will definitely stay here again in the future!
