Jewfish Key is a private island that we kayaked around. We saw a couple dolphins playing nearby too, but the main attraction to the public is large sandbar nearby. We rented our kayaks from a place called Kayak Jack's. They were great! You pick a drop-off location and specify a time and your kayaks will be awaiting you, ready for launch! http://www.kayak-jacks.com “You choose the location, We bring the Fun!”

Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant and Pub is the most perfect dining atmosphere I've ever encountered. Located on the Sarasota Bay on Longboat Key, you can dine just feet from the water under a canopy of live oaks entwined with subtle lighting. The restaurant resides in a building built in 1912. Surviving a hurricane in 1921, makes it one of the twelve oldest surviving structures on Longboat Key.
