Lovely family vacation home

Great family holiday house, spacious, comfortable beds, everything you could need. Lovely gift package on arrival. Daughters were a little put off by the taxidermy but I suspect hunters would appreciate it!

The hosts were amazing, they were very friendly and accommodating. The location was beautiful and very clean. The location was also very central to everything we had planned which made it an optimal place to stay for our large group. Would most definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay in this lovely peaceful home! It was comfortable and very clean with a well stocked Kitchen. There was also a complimentary welcome breakfast basket from the owners. Location is convenient with comfortable driving distance to the twin bay beach and Lockhart provincial park.

Lovely cottage with beautiful view, Debbie and Dean are very nice hosts. The place has everything you need to stay and feel like at home. Cozy, comfy beds, access to a fire pit, very quiet surroundings. I would totally book again! Thanks again!

This property was clean, private and a overall peaceful place. If you are looking for a place to just relax with comforts of home, this is a great choice. We normally travel in our motor home, and have passed by Wynndel several times over the last few years so we knew the area. I started a new business and just didn't have time to pack up the motor home or really plan anything. I am happy we found this place instead of a packed hotel somewhere. As others have said, the special touches mean a lot. The gift basket was great and then we received a fresh bowl of raspberries one morning that came from the on site garden that really made the whole experience comforting.

Great Hoitel Alternative

We really enjoyed the house which is situated on a beautiful piece of property with great views just outsiude of Creston. Dean was a great host and the house was clean and comfortable.

Way better than a hotel and way better views!

incredible views, super close to creston, excellent hospitality, and it's kept very clean. The fire pit on the hill was an excellent suppose with the views of the mountains and valley.. Debbie made us feel right at home. No complaints at all. We were able to hang out with the family and we didn't have to worry about eating at a restaurant every night/day. There are 3 wineries in the area, and the Kokanee brewery (all of which are recommended. Only 20ish min from he kootaney lake, and there were tons of fresh fruit markets. I will be going back to this resort. 100% recommended

Family run, gracious & friendly w/lots of room

For those that typically stay in hotel chains, Blacktail is very different. It's in a remote area, yet on the way if you're traveling back from Banff/Lake Louise back to the US by car. We essentially got a stand alone cottage with tons of space, including a living room, kitchen, and two bathrooms. We had three bedrooms, with a king size bed for my wife and I and two other bedrooms with queen beds that were plenty for my kids. Debbie, the owner is as gracious and warm as can be. She even brought us muffins in the morning! We were arriving very late, and Debbie kept in touch with us - even lit a bonfire so we can find the place on the dark country road. We had just come from the very swanky $$$$ Fairmont Jasper Lodge, but in many ways, this place was better. It looks "no frills" at first, but it actually has everything you need for a very quiet, spacious, comfortable rest. We were able to come in very late, skip the paperwork, and get right to sleep. Thanks for hosting us!
