Yes, there are things in the cabin that some of us will remember from our childhood. I remember my grandmother sewing on a Singer sewing machine. The picture in the room with twin beds shows an old Florida home sitting in a pecan orchard with the family picking up pecans. It reminded me very much of the place where I lived as a young child. We came home from school and picked up pecans to earn money to go to the fair. Special memories! Thanks for appreciating our little place.

It was great having you at the Retreat. As I am sure you know, the Winter is the best time to come to see a great variety of birds. Many unusual birds come to spend the Winter at the St Marks Wildlife Refuge. Taking a bike ride to the lighthouse in the Refuge is a fun activity while at the Retreat.

This is the best time of the year to stay at the Retreat if you want to see a variety of birds that come to stay in the St Marks Wildlife Refuge. They come in the winter to escape the cold up North just like many of our guests. Glad you were able to see so many while sitting on our dock. It was a pleasure to have you. The St Marks Wildlife Refuge is listed as one of the 50th best places to go birding before you die in one of our birding books. Awesome!

Yes, it was cold!!! Sorry but happy you enjoyed your stay in spite of the cold. We do a have a ramp going up to the house if the steps are too much. The ramp leads to only 5 or 6 steps. The ramp is used when the river is out of its banks. Looking forward to your return in warmer weather,

Yes, place is like the pictures except better. Television is bigger. Different furniture but the same beautiful spot on the river teeming with wildlife. Thanks for coming to enjoy our Retreat.
