The house is very large. The bedrooms were nicely decorated & were spacious (except the small one on the main level.) Bathrooms were a pleasant superise - nice showers, tubs and heated toilet seats, which were great during the cold weather.The living areas of the house were great! Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed. Two refeigerators were very handy. The closed in porch is wonderful - kids and grown ups loved spending time there. We even managed to prepare a full Thanksgiving dinner without any stress. The grocery store, gas stations & bait shops were close by. Kayaks were well maintained as was the pier & covered area . Life jackets were available in quite a few sizes. The views of the lake were breathtaking. Hosts were easy to reach, kind and very helpful. I wpuld definitely recommend this property to other families & friends (easily accommated 10 adults & 5 kids). Thank you hosts for allowing my family to stay at your Lake Haven!

Family Thanksgiving
We were looking for a place to gather to celebrate Thanksgiving as a family and this place meet all our needs and more. We had ages 4 to 92 and everyone had a wonderful time. The porch got lots of use, the youngest group loved the swingset, everyone loved the table tennis and the porch swing was occupied most of the time. The paddle boards and kayaks were used everyday. We heard several times that this was their favorite and magical Thanksgiving. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries prior to our arrival and during our stay. Wonderful time, so many great memories made.

I would very much like to back and spend another wonderful occasion with my family
I booked this property for my daughter's wedding, as a place for my family to get together between the events. Everyone in our family just absolutely loved this wonderful lake house. Most of my family got into the water, swimming or kayaking. BTW, Mr. & Mrs. Slappey already have two kayaks at the property that are available for guests to use. The young ones (and the adults who are still adventurous) had so much fun jumping off the top pier. They were having so much fun that it was challenge to get them out of the water so we can get ready for the events of my daughter's wedding. Mr. Slappey came by to fix the internet and gave us a boat ride. It was very generous of him to do so and it was such a pleasurable experience for us. All in all, a great family experience enhanced by a great location!

Lake house fun
The house was as big as it says. It was clean. Lots of bathrooms and we got a kick out of heated toilet seats haha. It was fun fishing ofrom the docks we cought bass and crappy and swimming was a blast. My 12 yr old son and 10yr old grandson as well as all the adults had an absolute blast jumping from the upper dock platform We kayak into the lake and swam. We totally enjoyed ourselves and if we ever visit that part of BAMA again we'll do our best to rent this home again Thanks to the host

Perfect property for a family reunion

This was a great house for three generations! Plenty of room, plenty of bathrooms, beautiful lake! The semi screened porch and the dock and deck area war the perfect places to hang out.

Father’s Day Getaway!
This place is awesome!! We had 14 people with us and there is plenty of room. Bill is amazing to communicate with. He always got back to me within minutes. If we ever go back to Logan Martin we’ll definitely be staying here. Thanks for everything Bill! Happy Fathets Day!

Great house for a work trip!
Seven of us rented this house for a work trip. It was perfect! Everyone had their own room & bathroom. The location was great for us and the view was even better. The Slappey’s are great hosts and we will definitely rent this property again.

Great stay at the lake
The homeowners were excellent to work with! AC problems and we called and they were there in an hour! Very hospitable, Problem fixed and they took us on a sunset cruise on their boat. They felt like family.

2020 Family Vacation
The property provided ample space for our large family to sleep comfortably and for visitations of family in the area. The deck served our family the best to allow for old and young to come together and enjoy the lake views and water activities. The house was large and spacious and supplied many amenities and sources that made it feel like home. That said we did notice a few things. Many of the motion lights for the walk down to the deck do not work and that made it difficult for our older family members to travel down to the deck at night. There was also a significant issue with ants. We noticed them in almost every room as soon as we arrived. We did make use of the ant spray that was provided, but more will probably need to be done. Other than those 2 issues, it was a wonderful stay and many memories were made. We would definitely request this wonderful home again.

Lake Access is the Key but House was so Accommodating as well
We came with just five but could have had extended family as well. All the "public space" is arranged to allow all a view to the lake and to feel like you are part of the action. Stuck with babies on the porch, no problem.....grandma wants to enjoy watching the kids jump off the deck, no problem........even if you have to wheel someone to the upper level dock you can. I'd not heard of this lake before, but it was fantastic - we brought our kayaks (Bill had two more) and spent all our time exploring/fishing the coves nearby. Bill gave us recommendations for nearby marina rentals, but the weather was iffy - so we just explored via paddle. Our teen girls spent all their time around and on the dock - sunning, lazing on the large floats, daring each other to jump from the top deck. Lake is very busy on the weekend, very quiet in the mornings and easier to traverse during the week. There are plenty of fish! I'm sure there are things to do in Cropwell, but with a pandemic we stayed put and our four days did not find us bored. Appeared to be good BBQ nearby, but went to nearby Publix and cooked here at the house. The place is well taken care of - kitchen well stocked. Only suggestions from us - adding screen to the porch would be awesome. Ping pong table is wonky. One of the kayak paddles was only a single side so difficult to cross the lake. We truly enjoyed this treasure, and hope to be back with extended family after the pandemic. Thanks for giving us an opportunity for this little getaway!

Great large family lake retreat
Our large extended family thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the Lake Haven. Great location, comfortable accommodations & the dock is an awesome hangout spot. A couple of very minor issues with electricity and keyless entry, but Mr. Slappey was responsive and issues were resolved immediately. HIGHLY recommend this place for families who enjoy the lake life.

Awesome Place
Awesome place to stay, from a very spacious house to a large dock. Perfect for our group and our 4 boats. There’s a marina located a couple miles away, that kept our trailers locked safely behind a gate for the whole week for 20.00 dollars. No issues at all docking our boats at the dock. Mr. Slappey is just a phone call away if there are any issues. This was our third stay at Mr Slappey’s and won’t be our last.

2019 Family Vacation/Reunion
We had 4 generations of folks at the house ranging from 82 to 2. Everyone had a great time. The large house offered plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our entire family. The owner has been great to work with. You will not be sorry you stayed here.

Friends Reunited for a wedding
We had a great time and the house was perfect for our families! We loved hanging out on the dock and kayaking and fishing. We caught fish ! The big porch with children’s play area was amazing! We enjoyed a lovely sunset and just had fun! We’d highly recommend this Home !

Wonderful extended family getaway!
This amazing property is located on beautiful Lake Logan Martin and has 7 bedrooms--4 kings, 2 queens and a double plus a child size bunk bed and another single bed plus sofa beds! It is really hard to find a house that has so many bedrooms (and most with private bathrooms!)! It worked out wonderfully for a getaway with my brother's family as we have 6 young adult children with the majority of them married. The house also has two den areas for hanging out with a large dining area plus a large kitchen table too! We were there between Christmas and New Years so we couldn't really enjoy the lake in the way you could during warmer weather, but we still had a wonderful time! The owner of the property is very kind and available if there is a problem; Mr Slappey quickly came over himself and repaired a leak while we were there! We highly recommend this property!

Best Family Getaway Yet!
This lake home was perfect for our 2018 family getaway. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, big family room, nice enclosed deck, friendly neighbors and a great dock. The kids loved playing in the water and jumping off of both levels on the dock into the deep water and paddling around in the kayaks. They enjoyed it so much we cancelled our outing on the second day to get back into the warm water. The house has plenty of parking for our cars and SUVs. The only negative was a mouse in the house one night. The owner responded quickly to our questions. Many of the families want to come back here next year.

Wonderful house and experience!!!!

Great house
We had a wonderful time in this house with our extended family. The house is indeed huge. It is equipped with everything you may need, and it all worked without any problems. The large covered porch is great for kids to play in, early mornings before going to the lake. Access to the lake is easy, and fishing rods, plus all kind of floating devices and 2 kayaks are available for use. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars (and I really blame VRBO for this) is all the extra charges that were added. Cleaning and taxes are expected. but maintenance fee and service fee?? Then one rents this 18 persons house for 8 persons only apparently, since more persons are an extra $10/pp/per night. VRBO becomes worse than the airlines in over charges. What is next: a charge for using the AC? We knew about these extra charges up front, and the house is well worth it, but why do it this way and add more than 40% to the price?

Great house and great dock on a beautiful and quiet lake
We weren't sure that we were all going to fit (there were 18 of us) but the layout of the house was simply and accommodated us all. The dock is awesome and is where we spent most of time with the kids jumping off of it. Bill was very helpful and checked in via phone every day to make sure there wasn't anything we needed. The property was nice and five minutes from Pell City which had everything we needed from groceries on down the line. We had a great family trip and would return.

Memorial Day Fun
Our multi-family group had tons of fun at Lake Haven on Memorial Day Weekend, 2018, even as Hurricane Alberto passed through. The home has a nice carport area for loading and unloading, even in rainy weather. It is well-equipped with a nice kitchen area, 2 refrigerators, and several large tables. The enormous back porch with a playset, pingpong table, and lots of seating offers a great gathering place for young kids and 'tweens, while adults can easily watch over them from the inside area's enormous windows. There is a lot of bedroom space, which is somewhat separated from each other, offering privacy and noise reduction. Note that the upstairs full bedroom is tiny, with just enough room for a double bed, but it works fine for a 'tween or youth. The bedrooms downstairs were a bit warmer than some liked, but there were small fans in each room that helped make them comfortable. There is also a nice den area downstairs that is not pictured on the website, which we used quite a bit as a sleeping area on the sofas and "device-playing" space. Although we had several rain showers, we also had lots of fun in the sun jumping off the multiple decks, kayaking, and playing with the many available floats. The home is beginning to show some evidence of "wear and tear," but it is truly great for families who want to spend quality time together. We have already asked Bill to pencil us in for another visit next year!

Property is great - perfect balence of indoor and outdoor space with lake access and close to town.
Property is great with many good sleeping rooms and couches even for very large groups. The dock is perfect for your boating needs and has a great sitting area to hang out. Bill is very professional and easy to work with - makes the overall planning and stay very easy.

Great place for a getaway!
We had a group of 13 adults come in from all over the country for the Alabama 500. There were plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms for this large of group. We enjoyed hanging out on the doc and the location is great for Talladega. The place is outdoors on a lake so remember there are bugs and spiders. Bill was easy to contact and resolved any issues we had in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend this place and return if heading back to Talladega.

Incredible views!!! Perfect home.
If you love a peaceful lake with birds singing, fish jumping, turtles padding by and perfect sunsets. This was the place! We will be back again next year. Perfect place. Plenty of room. All amenitiys worked. Close to state parks, Barber speedway, grocery stores, and so many things to do. It was a perfect place. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Great Getaway
We had a wonderful vacation getaway. House was big enough to handle 18 of us easily. We are a water loving family and this house and pier afforded us plenty of options. The kids loved the high deck to jump from. We enjoyed skiing, tube riding, wave boarding, kayaking, fishing and just soaking up the rays. The enclosed porch was the site of ping pong and corn hole tournaments on the one rainy day and at night . Bill was very helpful with getting us in and settled. I highly recommend Lake Haven
