Loved the area, just what we needed: peace and quiet. Loved the mountains. The property was huge and well maintained. So much room for my dogs. Loved that you can explore the property as well. The house is a family home with lots of sentimental value. It is an older house but cozy. I do have to mention the layout of the house is a bit interesting as you have to pass through one of the rooms to get to the bathroom. Additionally, I would say the rooms do not have lots of privacy. Also the storage room does not have a door but it is okay since it is in the back of the house. Overall I would recommend booking this property if you want a nice relaxing vacation to escape the city. Also the hosts were amazing and very quick to respond. There was an electrical outage in the area and the host was very communicative and even sent a family member to check up on us.

Perfect distance from town. Close enough for shopping, restaurants and points of interests. Super peaceful and no light pollution.Beds were too firm for our liking, but the rest of the house had everything we needed.

Great place, dog friendly, private & quiet!

This is a great property if you are looking for a private, quiet and relaxing stay in the woods! They had everything we needed and then some. The hosts are very responsive. I especially liked that it was pet friendly. Easy to get to west Jefferson, Lansing, Grayson Highlands State Park & more. Would stay again!

Sweet cabin stay

I loved the quiet peacefulness of the cabin. It is obviously a treasured family space. It was lovely to read about and see photos of it's history. The location was perfect for exploring West Jefferson and hiking Grayson Highlands. Having my dog, Remi with me made this the perfect.

Beautiful secluded spot

Had the most wonderful time, everything was super clean and we really enjoyed the history throughout the house. The most perfect secluded spot to bring your pups, ours had a blast. We definitely recommend!

Charming Place

A nice place to stay, property was very nice and easy to walk around with the dogs which also loved the place. Location is good easy to get around nice and peaceful. Property manager was very responsive and keep us informed of any problems in the area. Overall, we had a great time.

Peaceful

We really loved staying here for a week at the end of June. Sadly the temperatures were above average and the single window air unit was not enough to circulate through out the entire house. We didn't want to leave the windows open while we weren't there because of our four dogs. Also the lack of a fenced yard will stop us from returning. We brought a small amount of fencing with us which worked out great but takes up to much space in our SUV. If there was a fence we would return for short weekends in cooler weather. Our dogs absolutely loved it!

Love this place!

This place is awesome! Stayed here for 3 nights with my mom and my elderly dog. We loved it! It is very secluded, which is what I like about a trip to the mountains. Not far away from town and things to do. The driveway can be a little tricky, we didn't try it while it was dark out. But it's not steep, any car can do it. Definitely follow the directions given to find it. After a couple of times doing that, you can take the shorter route. Beautiful property, nice just to sit outside and enjoy nature. There isn't central A/C, because you usually don't need that in the mountains. However it was hot outside when we stayed over the 4th of July. There is a window unit in one of the bedrooms and it cooled the whole house down great! I highly recommend this place. I hope to return very soon!
