The photos & overview had been generous, raising our expectations; a quaint & luxurious cottage this was not. First impressions were of an uncared for property in need of updating.There had been no mention of the accessibility of the property being down two flights of rather steep steps (over 30) some of which were rotting and loose. This would have deterred us from renting had we have known given we had an albeit fit 84yr old in our party and extremely heavy luggage. The steps and the outdoor bbq area were covered with leaves and cobwebs which we had to clean. The door was damaged and did not close.The property inside was not the light and airey, luxury space we expected from the listing and was relatively basic. No info pack was found.Much of the house was grubby - entrance door and blind were filthy, thick dust on the skirting boards, sticky floors. Pantry door and rubbish bin needed cleaning.Kitchen worktops and cooker were dirty, crockery and cutlery had food detritus and all needed washing.Bedsheets and towels were clean but some were stained.The fridge absolutely stunk of fish for the duration of our 4 night stay.All of the outdoor furniture was dirty and needed wiping, much of the soft furnishing for this was stained and grubby.The property was not appropriatly prepared for new guests. It certainly did not live up to our expectations and left us so disappointed about a part of our trip that we had so looked forward to.Quiet, pleasant viewPhotos available
