My daughter was visiting for the weekend with her 4-year old and 10-month baby. We decided to rent a VRBO property to host them as my Dallas apartment isn’t big enough.
We settled on this property for the heated pool feature. Renting this house turned out to be best laid plans of mice and men.
HEATED POOL: We were told that it takes 12 hours to bring the pool a the desired temperature. If that is the case, there was nothing at the check in procedure to request it so the guests can enjoy a heated pool when they check in. This would be make sense as the rental requires a fee to turn on the pool, and a daily fee for the duration of the stay.
SAFETY: There is a fairly steep staircase that has one side complete exposed without handrails. Ironically, there is a handrail, on the attached to the side that is entirely dry-walled. We had to block off the staircase during our stay to protect our 4-year old and the crawling infant.
HYGIENE: Not hygienic at all to shower in a shower that creates standing water. Some pillows had stains under the covers.
PROPERTY CONDITION: It’s an updated house that was built in the 80’s. The updating is probably not recent as it shows a bit neglected repair works. Some examples include the kitchen having cracks in the caulking, tiles falling apart in a bathroom, broken headboard in the bedroom, cracks in the seams of drywall joints, and more seriously, a clogged shower drain in the main bedroom.
APPLIANCES: The oven did not work, never resolved.
