“We didn’t stay. We when arrived, instead of a room in the guest house, we were expected to stay in a tentlike structure. In addition, the bathroom facilities were outdoor showers and commodes that required a climb up a set of stairs. Luckily we were able to secure a room at another facility. The owner supposedly requested a refund for me but I haven’t heard whether this has been approved.”

“We drove up to the house, noticing a couple of torn window screens and some rain-soaked paper hanging off the mailbox. We had to ring the doorbell a couple of times before we heard a voice from the intercom. They had difficulty hearing us, asked whether we were staying that day or the next (it was supposed to be both), and then replied, "Oh. Wait a minute." Many minutes passed and no one came to the door. We can only imagine that we caught the host off guard. We double-checked our rental dates....

“First, Christina and Emilio are excellent hosts. So nice! And there are lots of little touches that make staying nicer. Such as bandaids in the bathroom when I cut my arm and k-cups for morning coffee. Great communication and very friendly. The neighborhood is great and I felt completely safe.
