Run Down

Hotel is ran down u can tell it’s not kept up we rented 3 rooms the heat didn’t work in one of them and the front desk didn’t even care!! Wouldn’t take any money off or credit us just didn’t care at all! Definitely for the price go somewhere else!!!

The sheets were dirty and stained and there was even dirt and sand in the bed. Obviously the sheets had not been changed or washed. No breakfast, claiming the Virus restrictions. However we have stayed in another hotel twice in Danville since the coronavirus started and they at least serve coffee and juice and packaged breakfast food. We will never stay in this hotel again.

Get what you pay for!!!

There was roaches everywhere. The lights didn’t work in the bathroom. The front desk lady was rude when I asked for extra towels and asked why would I wait till night time to ask for towels but I had just checked in. She tried to argue with me about my service dog that has certification which was presented at the time of check in.

the door on the room had been kicked in and the repair was a hack job. the area around the hotel was not a very safe environment. we had reserved two rooms and only used one that we didn't stay in for safety reasons and have had a hell of a time trying to get a reimbursement for the other room. I do not recommend this hotel for my pets.

Roaches running thru bathroom and bug parts not not cleaned behind a door for several days. Room ok with minimal maint to building as a whole. Bring your own kleenix as they provide none. Room furniture old and worn.

Location was good. There were no tissues or glasses/cups for drinking water. No lid on toilet - my towel fell in the toilet. Need towel racks - not over the lidless toilet.

Great, Friendly Accommodations for the Price

Really should have given it the highest rating just to offset the people who gave it unreasonably low ratings. This is not a five star resort...and it isn't priced like one. Reading some of those reviews, I almost opted to spend more money and stay somewhere else. But I thought I'd give this a try and I'm glad I did. The staff, including James, were very nice people, and made it clear that they were available to assist with anything to make sure my son and I had a pleasant stay. This is a motel----outside entrances. It seemed as though my next door neighbors, who checked in right after we did, might be rowdy. They were young people, loud when checking in---but after hours, everything was fine. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The room was also clean and well kept. We were meeting friends for breakfast, so I didn't try the continental breakfast, but did stop in the lobby in the morning for coffee, which was good, hot and fresh. My kid wanted to go to the nearby tank museum and this property, Astoria Danville North, ended up being perfect for us. Plenty of parking, lot was well lit enough----slept well and paid on the lower end of the scale but still got a clean, comfortable room and friendly staff. I honestly don't know what some people expect when they book a bargain hotel/motel. I think they are being unreasonable and obnoxious to criticize this property. I highly recommend it.

This place was not in very good condition at all. The curtains did not close, the chair was stained, the air conditioner was all taped up and the room was very dark and dingy. The place had all kinds of people hanging out in the parking lot and talking. I did not even want to stay the night at this place and would not return. The place was creepy.

Uneventful. The hotel was comfortable for the two nights we stayed. The staff was welcoming upon our arrival.

Facility was older and needed basic repairs. Many of the door jams were damaged. Our door was difficult to open at times.

Migrant workers long term

The staff was nice and helpful. The hotel is getting remodled but ... The a/c units were held together with duct tape. It was very loud but that was good because it droened out the noise. The carpet was very thin but newer but laid with many wrinkles. The towels like the carpet was very thin. I suspect the sheets were not changed, they were very wrinkled. Expedia charge $15.00 more than the hotels rate for the room. There is a nice Mediterranean restaurant two doors down.

Not a good place to stay!

The room was dirty and very shabby. It is greatly in need of good housekeeping and maintenance. Breakfast donut was stale. Lastly, although we were giving the manager plenty of lead time - over 24 hours - that we did not need our last reserved night, he would not refund the cost of the night. The cost was significantly higher due to there being a race at the Virginia International Raceway.

Hell No

The staff was the best part! We requested a non-smoking room but the room clearly had burn marks on the bedcover and sinks. They utalized an AMAZING AMOUNT of spray to offset the stinch. Wall paper peeling, water knob falling off,patched cheap flooring. Not to mention I got this room for my daughter and myself. Shady folks all hours. Pool wasn’t open as advertised because the people in charge were too busy drinking beer pool side and what not.
