Ardmorar - Dolly Sods Access, Hot Tub, Lake Access

  • Ardmorar es una casa espaciosa y contemporánea situada en más de dos acres privados en un entorno de bosque aislado. Se encuentra en la comunidad cerrada de Old Timberline, adyacente a la estación de esquí de Timberline y a Dolly Sods Wilderness.  También se encuentra a poca distancia en coche del complejo de esquí y campo de golf de Canaan Valley, así como del parque estatal de Blackwater Falls.

     

    Esta cómoda casa de propiedad privada tiene un espacio amplio y abierto en la planta principal, con una amplia terraza con vistas espectaculares del valle de Canaán.  La gran sala cuenta con un techo estilo catedral, una acogedora chimenea a leña, un suministro de madera curada, un televisor de alta definición de 40 pulgadas con reproductor de DVD y una selección de películas y música. Wi Fi también está disponible.  La habitación solar adyacente es un excelente lugar para observar a los venados afuera o jugar uno de los muchos juegos de mesa disponibles.  Junto a la cubierta hay una bañera de hidromasaje, que ofrece una relajante experiencia al aire libre, con fabulosas vistas del valle.

     

    Dos habitaciones están convenientemente ubicadas en el piso principal, con camas tamaño queen y baño privado. Toallas de baño y ropa de cama se proporcionan. También hay un comedor muy cómodo junto a la cocina totalmente equipada. Una lavadora y secadora también está disponible.  El vestíbulo de entrada contiene una gran cantidad de espacio de almacenamiento para esquís y equipo para actividades al aire libre.

     

    El segundo piso cuenta con un espacioso loft alfombrado con un sofá cama y una amplia área de juegos con vista a la gran sala.  El dormitorio principal ofrece un baño grande con bañera de parejas y una terraza privada.



    El valle de Canaán es el lugar perfecto para visitar en cualquier época del año.  Las temperaturas más frescas del valle en verano lo convierten en un lugar ideal para alejarse de todo y disfrutar de la belleza de nuestras majestuosas montañas.  En el invierno, el esquí es excelente y en el otoño las hojas se encuentran entre las más espectaculares de la región.  Las localidades históricas de Davis y Thomas ofrecen pintorescas tiendas, locales de música y hospitalidad local.

     

    Aunque la Asociación de Propietarios de Timberline ara las carreteras principales, es posible que sea necesario conducir en cuatro ruedas para acceder a esta propiedad durante la temporada de invierno.

Great Timberline location

The Ardmorar house is in a nice location on Timberline Mountain. Very quiet and nice winter views. The house condition is generally good. There was a lot of snow ice that should have been cleared better from steps and walkway when we arrived.

Great location to access Blackwater State Park, the Wildlife Refuge and Dolly Sods Wilderness. The house is nestled in the woods with views, privacy and many of the essentials for rentals. However it could use some TLC and an update. For example, it was a treasure hunt to find the house information book and many of the contact numbers for maintenance and area businesses had telephone numbers no longer in use or with no area codes. The interior is dated and could be more welcoming: ripped seams in couch back cushions, mold and moldy odor in the bathrooms, and taped up tears in the vinyl table cloth. While the bedding was clean, the beds were more thrown together rather than "made" upon arrival, and extra towels and pillows for some rooms were on the closet floor. I normally would share these details with the owner directly rather than post in the public review. But in this case there are only VRBO and a local realty company who manages the unit.

The property was everything and more! The pictures really did not do this house justice. It was so spacious and cozy. There were 4 adults and 6 kids from the ages of 13-3 and there was plenty of room for all of us. We did bring an air mattress however for extra bedding but there was still enough room up in the loft area for the full size air mattress, pull out couch and our niece to sleep on the twin size bed and still room for them to play. The deck off the master room was probably my favorite feature of the house, each morning I sat up there and enjoyed my coffee and just listening to the peacefulness that surrounded us. The kiddos also enjoyed the hottub very much, it was hard getting them out of it. The kids all really enjoyed the house and even advised us to rent it "next weekend". My husband and I are determined to rent as many houses in Old Timberline but this house is definitely on the rent again list. Everyone is always so nice and eager to answer questions guests may have. We have booked through Mountaintop for 3 year in a row now and we are already looking to book another weekend in May 2020.

Trip Advisor Review: “Peaceful winter interlude with family” Six members of our family stayed in this 3 bedroom-plus loft location over Christmas for 5 nights. The house is set in a large development at a gated community some miles south of Davis (easy driving distance). The houses are far enough apart so that privacy is preserved, and it's very quiet. The bedrooms are small but big enough for two people. One of the few negatives was that the Queen mattresses on all three beds were all too well-worn for comfort - trenched in the middle - so I hope those are replaced. The loft had a twin bed and a pull-out couch, and the living room was also equipped with a pull-out bed. The living room had a lovely fireplace, and firewood was available. The kitchen was fairly well equipped, but could use some TLC as well. My sons took advantage of the outdoor hot tub in the snow. There were plenty of TVs available, which we never needed to turn on. The location is convenient to several ski areas, and some great hiking areas like Blackwater Falls. One of our favorite spots in Davis is the Stumptown Ales brewery, with small bar seating area and sometimes some food for sale as well. We would go back if beds are upgraded - we all enjoyed the beautiful snowy views and the peaceful atmosphere. I communicated w/Becky over email. It was easy and she was able to answer some extra questions I asked before we arrived.

It may be beneficial to tell future tenants that the doors lock differently than most.

It may be beneficial to tell future tenants that the doors lock differently than most. We all went to the hot tub the first night and locked ourselves out of the cabin. Thankfully, the front door was still unlocked from unpacking the vehicles. If not, we'd have been wet, cold, and locked out. The porch locked but no one realized it because you can still open it from the inside. The team was helpful...a little miscommunication about check-in. But, arriving late didn't help. For example, I didn't know what to do with the paperwork, so I left it in the mailbox at the office. But, when I got to the gate (didn't know there was a gate), he needed my paperwork. No big deal, just a little confusion.

We had a very nice time and it was great spending some days off in the mountains with family.

We had a very nice time and it was great spending some days off in the mountains with family. We loved the scenery, animals, and just relaxing by the fire. We were concerned when we heard it was going to snow considering it was the 3rd weekend in October. Thought we would have trouble getting out. We were surprised that once we made it out of the driveway, the roads were cleared, that was a relief.We love WV, and I'm sure our travels will bring us home to the place we belong! We had a good experience working with Mountain Top Realty, everything went well from booking to the final drop off of the keys. Our personal preference is to deal with someone we know we can trust instead of booking with someone we don't know anything about

We've stayed at Canaan Valley many times over the last 30 years and love the area. We'll be back! The team was helpful in choosing the property, check in and check out. We didn't need to call during our stay because everything was in fine order at the house.
