This was a perfect location for our trip to Daytona bike week. The house had everything we needed for a great week.

This place does not sleep 10. The futon is the size of a twin bed, riddled with crumbs in the fold, and there was no bedding for it. The bathroom is ridiculously small featuring a tiny sink, about 8 inches deep, with an odd drain plate with mold and grime. The shower has a narrow glass wall, but no curtain or barrier to keep the water in. Do not rent this place if you have children as the staircase is so steep and a true hazard. This would be fine for a college spring break trip on the cheap, but don’t drink too much as you will fall to your death making a wrong turn out of the bunk room in the dark. The bunk beds squeak so loudly when you roll over you may need a screwdriver to tighten up the frame. (The host did suggest that was the issue but did not offer to do anything.) We ended up leaving after the first night as we didn’t want our entire trip ruined and didn’t want to argue with the host. It’s also in a bit of a sketchy area so make sure to be with a pal while parking in the unlit carport behind the unit with trash taking up one of the spots. This is not a boutique hotel. It’s a freestanding two unit building resembling a Barbie Dream House. It’s nice at first glance, but cheaply redone to photograph well. We didn’t investigate, but it looked as if there is a camera in the corner of the living room. The host did make a comment that the futon accommodated “normal” sized people. As a larger woman, it makes me feel like he knew my size from being able to see me. YUCK

Place was very nice. Only two blocks from Main St and the beach. Also, it was the only place we found with covered parking for our motorcycles. The kitchen was very well equipment and everything worked great. The living room has nice furniture and was comforable. The rooms were a nice size. Regarding the bedroom with the bunks beds, the bed I slept on was comfortable. However, the metal springs squeak alot when you sit or move around on the bed.This bedroom was also missing the proper remote for the TV. There was a remote but it wasn't the right one.The stairs going in are very steep. If you have bad knees, you will have a problem. The bathroom was small but very nice and clean.I would suggest putting a light in the carport.Over all it was a very nice place to stay. We would definitely stay there again.

The property was nice, clean. The driveway is snug. Parking is tight. There is a steep stairway leading up to the room. Beds were comfy. We felt safe. It was a good stay.

Short stay for a tournament

The location was excellent for us when we stayed for our kids’ karate tournament at the Ocean Center. The parking lot was literally in the front yard. Check in was easy and Darrel was pretty quick to respond to any questions I had. Overall, stay was good, but the listing said ‘sleeps 10’ I can’t imagine having more than the 5 we had in our family stay comfortably. The bathroom was comically small. I knew there was only one bath, but a shower curtain would’ve been nice to provide some privacy if someone needed in the bathroom at the same time as someone was showering. The shower looked beautiful but would splash terribly and the floor would become very slick. The furniture was as pictured. It looked pretty, and master bed was comfortable, but the bunks were pretty hard and very squeaky. The squeaking made it hard for the kids to get to sleep both nights. The AC worked pretty well in the bathroom and bedrooms, but the living room remained on the warm side the whole time we were there. The living room furniture was pretty uncomfortable and would’ve been very difficult to fit more than our 5 family members in there, three of whom were children.This house was very close to the boardwalk attractions. The walls were thin and with no fans or white noise machines. It was very easy to hear every car, shout, song, bed squeak etc. All things considered, it was a good stay. A few things would’ve made it more comfortable, but I’ve definitely stayed in worse.

Great Stay

Stayed with my family for a few days to attend a wedding nearby. The property was clean, chic, and peaceful, which made it the perfect place to unwind after a hectic weekend of events. While I didn’t get to spend much time at the apartment myself, my family did, and they were comfortable throughout the stay. Check-in was smooth, and the host was very responsive and helpful with any questions I had.I’d definitely love to rebook and take the time to truly enjoy the space and explore the area without being pulled in so many directions.

Perfect Daytona Beach bungalow

Mid century modern bungalow with everything one would need. Can't get a better location to the Ocean Center Convention Center which was the location of the event I directed. Two of my staff members stayed as well, and we were at the Ocean Center in around 2 minutes walking time as we were located directly behind it. Also, we were about a minute further from the ocean, shops and restaurants, (not that we had time to enjoy those amenities). Everything in the house was great, perfect for a family beach vacation.

Our stay at the Ella….

We booked this lovely boutique unit to accommodate our 7 person family for a few nights while in town for the annual Winter Guard competition (we came in third!). Just literal steps away from the convention center made this ideal for our situation. The upper unit was more than enough space even for an extended stay, I’m sure. The host, Darryl was phenomenal! Very responsive and personable. He also provided us with everything you could need for a home away from home feeling while on vacation. My family makes this trip every year and plan to book this unit for the foreseeable future if it is available. Thanks for a great stay D. Hope to see you on the West coast! First one is on me!

Great spot for proximity to beach

Darrell’s place is a has a great location for proximity to beach! I felt safe, but it’s definitely an older part of Daytona with many VRBO’s nearby. The place has a very steep staircase when you enter so if you are physically impaired, this is not the place for you. Check in and communication with host was great! The place itself is great if you just need a place to sleep and quickly gather. Living space is quite large and very clean. The bunk beds squeak quite a bit so bring ear plugs. The ceiling above one of the beds is coming off so we opted not to sleep on the bed, wasn’t a big deal. The bathroom is very small (probably 3 ft. wide) but has everything you need! Overall it had all the necessities, but wouldn’t recommend for a “nice” beach vacation.
