Cabin by the river

Peter was a great host. The cabin is beautiful, the scenery is amazing. The cabin we stayed in was almost brand new, and it didn't disappoint. Peter was also very available with answers for any of our questions. Definitely a memorable stay!

Cozy Cabin on the Creek in Talkeetna

I almost left a more negative review because I couldn’t get the heater to work at first so I was about to have a very miserably cold night. But I persevered and figured out how to work it and had a very comfortable and cozy night after all. The cabin being a dry cabin didn’t bother me at all, mostly because I was only there for one night and didn’t really need to have a shower, plus I grew up going camping and so the use of an outhouse didn’t bother me either. The cabin was a hundred times more comfortable than any tent and sleeping bag I’ve ever slept in, no matter how cold or hot it was outside. Would definitely recommend to anyone else looking for a place to stay in Talkeetna

Little cabin in the woods

Loved this place! Our deck was right next to the river, which provided such calm, relaxing sounds. There was fire wood, and a bonus sauna. All in asll, it was as great unplugged time.

This was amazing!!! It was so cute and wonderful! The bed was so comfortable and being able to sit outside with a cup of coffee on the porch while listening to the creek was heaven! Would definitely recommend if you are wanting to get away and have the dry cabin experience. I wish we had stayed here more than one night!

Getting ahold of somebody for check in was a little difficult at first but once that was out of the way everything else was perfect. The cabin was better then i expected, and i didn't think I was going to see all the fish that I saw

Great Primitive (dry) Cabin

Great location, great primitive cabin, clean outhouse. Come fully self-sufficient (food, water, cooking items) and you'll have a great time.

A little slice of heaven!!

Talkeetna cabins on Montana Creek are absolutely amazing. Every single thing about the cabins is special and unique. First off you are on the Montana River, Fly fishers women dreams, there's trout rainbow Silver salmon. The smell of freshly cut wood in each one of them is relaxing. I was a little worried about bears so we made sure to bring .44 and a shot Gun just in case, the forest surrounding the cabins was cleared out a little which is good, but be carful if you habe childeren and small animals. The Wood Fired sauna, oh my goodness, A Slice of Heaven, it was easy to start up and keep going, cooling off by the river was anadventure and made the experience just that much more fun! We enjoyed its remoteness and the fact that when there was no one else staying at the other cabins we had the entire property to herself and that was cool. Although there is no running water at least in the modern way, this is my favorite Hotel / getaway / Slice of Heaven. We will be coming back again!

This cabin is an awesome off the beaten path accomodation. Everything is rustic and is a dry cabin. The view and peaceful setting is worth the stay. The cabin sits on a world class fishing creek in Alaska. There is a rustic outhouse and solar power. This cabin is meant for worldly class people who wanna disconnect for a while. Hosts are great and respect your privacy.

We were at the cabin for a weekend getaway and it was perfect. The cabin was cozy and the setting on the creek was beautiful and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is always good to have a place we can stay with our dog, will definitely return for future getaways.

Amazing true Alaskan experience! Exactly what we were going for. Solar powered dry cabin right on the Montana creek. We left the windows open and heard the movements of the water all night long. If you’re wanting the Alaskan experience, definitely stay here!

River front

Loved the real Alaskan feel on the river. Cabin was newer and better than online picture. Was a highlight of trip. Showers and indoor bathrooms are overrated. Get out in the wild!

My wife and thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property. It was very peaceful with no one around and the creek babbling along right next to the cabin. My wife found the outhouse to be much better than she expected it to be. This is a very relaxing and beautiful location. We would love to go back and stay again to see what it is like during a different time of the year. Its worth the stay just to sit on the porch and watch the creek go by while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea.

Another comfortable trip into the remote

We had a great time, saw lots of moose, and enjoyed a very deep snow wonderland, while being able to drive all the way in to the cabin. Very peaceful, comfortable, and warm.

My Alaskan Night!!!

I just came back from this amazing place last week and I must say it was everything I wanted and more!!! It’s a true Alaskan experience and Peter was AMAZING!!!! At first I thought I was going to be chopped up in little pieces because I watch too many Horror Movies but when I met him he made me fill at ease and so comfortable being a single black female in the woods alone he constantly checked on me and made me feel like I was apart of his family!!!!! The cabin is a DREAM...and it was so warm and cozy....I am here to confess that this made my whole Holiday worth it!!! If you want a true experience in Alaska you must and I repeat MUST visit this place!!!!! Thank you Peter!!!! I’ll tell all my friends about you and your beautiful cabins!!!

NIghtmare stay!

This was the worst part of our Alaska Trip. First of all, spent over 2 hours on a gravel road looking for this place, no signs whatsoever in the middle of no where. Finally, flagged someone down whom happen to know someone renting cabins on river. He called who he thought it was and told him there were guests trying to find place. He then had us follow him to find it. This stranger was so nice. When we finally get there, there was no sign, and no address (he had one on hotels.com) but supposedly he said there is no address there. The man who helped us just said to walk in cabin. There was no one there, no place to check in, very uncomfortable situation. When we walked in, it was cute very small cabin. Electrical outlet by sink was off and floors were very dirty. Only light that worked in cabin was small lamp by bed. The other lights did not work. Can only charge phones with power in cabin. Very limited power. This cabin was clearly not ready to be rented out and should not have been. Very disappointed :(
