Scenic Mountain Vacation Family Home near Blackhawk, Golden, and Denver

Log house on 7 acres in the Rocky Mountains next to Golden Gate State Park with excellent hiking trails and beautiful scenery. The house is in the woods, very peaceful, very private. Lots of hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, lakes, mountain scenery, etc. 15-minute drive to historic Blackhawk and Central City, with Central City Opera House performances in the summer and gambling all year. A 30-minute drive to Golden with restaurants and the Colorado School of Mines. A 50-minute drive to Denver and Boulder. The closest ski areas are Eldora (40 minutes), Loveland (1 hour), and Winter Park and A-Basin (1.5 hours).

The house is built of logs with a gorgeous central great room that leads onto a large deck for relaxation and entertaining in the beautiful outdoors. The great room has a central fireplace (wood supplied) for cozying up to in the evening with a book and glass of wine. The upstairs loft looks out over the great room and a large window with views of the mountains. The room contains two single beds that can be folded into comfortable chairs. There are large bedrooms with queen and double beds on the upper and main floors. The house has mountain-rustic-style ceilings and walls with a lovely kitchen dining-room space.

The house has a fully-stocked kitchen with an induction stove, dishwasher, and all the pots, pans, dishes and silverware that a family needs, along with basic foodstuffs like salt/pepper, coffee/tea, sugar, etc. A washer and dryer with soap are provided. Linens, towels, etc. are provided for bathrooms and beds. A CD player is available for music and the house is equipped with wi-fi, however there is not a television.
