Unit was good, location was terrible.

The property description was accurate, and we enjoyed the city views. We arrived around 9pm and immediately noticed the amount of homelessness and folks with addiction issues. We managed to get our belongings to the unit and settled in. During the daylight hours the place was quiet, unfortunately the main front doors to the building are a gathering place for the locals. The screaming and fighting outside at night sounded like we were on the first floor, the unit is on the sixth floor. The first two nights were absolutely miserable. Our solution was to wear ear plugs in bed to try to get some sleep. We messaged the host who was very responsive. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do, especially at midnight. On day two we spoke with a police officer who was posted out front. He stated he was there to be a deterrent. He gave us his card and said to call the non-emergency number if we have any issues. Unfortunately, we had to walk the gauntlet through 10-15 people loitering outside the front doors just to get into the building. Most were intoxicated and/or high or asked for money. Trash was all over the street and sidewalks. The City has a real issue with this block; we stayed downtown last year two blocks north without issues. I can honestly say, this was not enjoyable.

Location was central to what we had to do. If driving in there are ample parking garage options at very reasonable rates. Several restaurant options nearby and a grocery store within a couple blocks.

Second time at this apartment

Stayed last Memorial weekend and loved it so much we went back. Great place to stay if you’re in town for whatever. Comforter, close to tons of restaurants and bars, good views. Will look this place up again for any future visit.

One night stay

Property was nice but had street noise and bright light from street even though there were blinds. Suggest light blocking shades. Also, check in indicated picking up key fob and then parking in ramp. We parked in the ramp but found it difficult to find apartment through skywalk We went back outside on the street level to enter the building. Maybe this just needs to be explained better.

Love Downtown Des Moines

Perfect corner apartment in downtown Des Moines. There’s a late night bodega on the ground floor in case you need something and a swanky hotel next door. Within walking distance to everything. The apartment is very comfortable and has a coffee making area and an electric kettle. TVs in every room. We’d go back in a heartbeat. Great views including the capital.

Down town trip

The place was very clean with all the amenities that we needed. The bed was comfortable. The views were exceptional. Everything was in walking distance so we left our car in the parking garage all weekend. Checking in was a little confussing only because we didn't know the area and the skywalk was a bit hard to find. We would stay again and thinking of coming back in the summer.

Excellent Apartment

The apartment was wonderful. It is clean and a great space. We had 5 people and slept comfortably.Plenty of room to gather and hang out before we went to dinner. Walking distance from downtown.
