The house was great. We had 9 people, which was the perfect fit. The kitchen is stocked, the bathrooms had plenty of towels, and the living rooms were clean. Enjoyed our time!

Property was very clean, neighborhood was quiet and the property was exactly as represented. We enjoyed the pool table in the basement and the closeness to grocery shopping. Would definitely stay here again.

Stay with family

We stayed here for the Goodguys car show at the fairgrounds over 4th of July weekend. It was the perfect setup for our three adult children, their significant others and our grandchild. Kitchen table was large enough for all of us to sit and eat together. We used the grill, stove, oven, washer, dryer and all worked great. Ample parking for three cars in the driveway. Pool table was fun. Bathrooms were very clean and looked to have been recently remodeled. The beds were very comfortable. House was decorated very cute. I had some questions during our stay and reached out to the host and they responded quickly. I had no issues when staying here. I would recommend.

Good not great

Overall stay was good! What we first walked into though was…not good. The house was a complete mess with dirty laundry and wet towels laying around, plugged sink and dirty dishes. Reached out to owner who sent cleaner over but we had arrived and then had to leave for a couple hours for the cleaners to come and clean the whole house. Communicating was good and it was taken care of but a little frustrating to first walk into and then have to leave right away. Otherwise things were pretty good

Not up to standards

I hate leaving this review, but this was the filthiest place I’ve ever rented. We even left a night early because it was so gross. The tile on the kitchen floor was permanently stained, smudges all over the appliances, oven was very dirty, torn paper liners in cabinets, one piece of food stuck in sink drain, old sponges in sink, etc. The upstairs bathroom was remodeled poorly with dirt and mold on the floor and floor trim. House vents were covered with dust. Lots of stains on carpeting. Poor interior paint job on walls and trim with lots of wear and tear. Exterior paint peeling on entire side of house. The place feels like one do it yourself, first time short-term rental with work done by owner or friends, but not professionals. On a positive note, communication with the property manager was good. He was responsive and helped me repeatedly get inside as I had issues with the locking device.

Girls Weekend

Enjoyed a two night stay at this property. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Nice space to play board games, watch movies, shoot pool and visit. Property manager was attentive.

Overall it was a good experience. Upon our arrival we found: air conditioning was turned on with 2 windows open, dirty towels in the laundry room, only one coffee pod left, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, supply closet door was open and unlocked, no kitchen towels. The entry code supplied did not work, but the property manager rectified that situation. It was nice for our family gathering, but the patio furniture was dirty and the yard was not optimal for kids to play in .

Cozy short stay

We just needed a place to stay for a family funeral north of Des Moines. This place was located close to all the things we needed for our trip. A couple of things were missing, but our host quickly supplied those things. It was a very pleasant stay and would recommend to others!

Great Host

Our host was great, very responsive to questions and communication. House was what we expected. We didn’t know anything about the area and it seems like it’s in transition but the street the house is on is nice. Would stay here again, it met our needs perfectly.

Great place just needs a little work

Inside the house was nice and clean but the outside could use a little work. There was trash in the backyard which was taken care of by the owner once he was made aware of it. Also I found a pile of dog droppings mixed in the cedar chips which is not inviting. But it did have a working washer and dry plus plenty of room for my family. Plus we found wonderful frozen custard near by.

Dan, our host, thought of absokutely everything we would need home from home. The house is beautifully decorated with THE most confortable beds. This is our go to home whenever we come to Des Moines and I cannot recommend the property more highly

Good value for price.

Our children are now scattered from Lincoln NE to Iowa City IA so we decided to meet in a somewhat central location to celebrate the holidays. This home is nicely kept. Has 4 beds plus 2 large sectionals. The owner was very responsive.
