Family Beach Trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was awesome. Condo is close to everything and it was very clean! It was a great place to stay! One of the tvs was missing an hdmi cable and we ran out of hot water often (trying to bathe a family of 6) which wasn’t a big deal once we got use to it. Everything else worked great!

Spacious unit!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is awesome for the space. Two levels, great for families, and updated kitchen. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to cook. The bathrooms are in the smaller side and could use some updating, but it wouldn’t prevent us from staying here again. The views from these top floors is beautiful. Second year to Silver Dunes and we will be back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was perfect with our vacation. The only complaint we have is that check out is 9:00 am and the cleaning lady was at our door at 8:50 waiting and staring at us while we carried our luggage to the car. It was somewhat annoying while we were loading our car! We were going to be OUT by 9:00. I would prefer her to wait at least few minutes after 9:00 and not stand at our door!!

Could be a very nice Unit

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First of all, I love Silver Dunes and Still do after at least 20 different stays over the years.Unit 44 could be a very nice unit. Here are my suggestions fwiw.Replace A/c Unit and add a second one for second floor bedrooms. Although the maintenance people showed promptly, all they did was shut some vents and open others. I left it at that because I saw fans sitting on four or more tables and new that it was an ongoing problem. Even with all fans on and temperature set at 67 degrees, it never got below 74 degrees in the unit. Comfortable for some but not for me.Furniture is nice and comfortable as are the beds and it is decorated fine and the kitchen has been updated but generates a lot of heat which is what I was trying to avoid. I think all 2 1/2 baths need to be completely renovated and decorated.I did book next years trip but in a different unit.Hope I am not hurting anyone's feelings but just telling you how I feel.Lastly, As far as the entire property goes. Very clean and staff very nice. I experienced 2 elevator outages with one being the Saturday morning we were leaving. I did not really think I was going to be able to get all of the luggage down 4 flights of stairs, but after an hour of sweating profusely, was able to get on the road an hour later than I intended. This lead to about an hour and a half to my trip home as it put me in the high traffic areas at the wrong times. I hope that management recognizes this huge inconvenience and offers an olive branch (Credit) for next year. I am returning because it truly is a wonderful place for my grandchildren and nieces and nephews. We had 6 or seven condo's for the week and hope to have at least that many in 23.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo was clean however lots of things gas were broken like lock for downstairs balcony, the shower head in the guest bath, the top bunk bed is very loose and none of the kids would sleep up there. The unit is dated and needs renovating, also, most of the other large Inuits have washers and dryers this one did not that was a pain.

Our favorite place to stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great vacation 5/27/18 - 6/10/18 at Silver Dunes. Clear Water/ Beach/ Chairs/ Umbrellas by George perfect and fun as always. Pool with occasional movies/S’mores/live music at night a perfect end to the days compliments of the Silver Dunes crew. Gated property with very friendly staff and security lets you relax and enjoy. Location on the beach, across from Chick Fil A and Waffle House, 1/2 mile from Wal Mart and Wal Greens. Very short drive to Henderson Park, Crab Island, Baytown, Harborwalk. Silver Dunes can not be topped if you are staying in Destin.Our unit #44 was spacious, serviceable and provided a fantastic view of the ocean and property. Cabinetry, doors, and finishes are ready for updating and I am sure that will happen soon.We look forward to returning to Silver Dunes.

It was small enough to provide fantastic access to the beach and pool and elevator without fighting crowds. The views were great from our condo and the umbrella service is something I can now never live without.

Never Again

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was accused of smoking in the condo, which I didn’t. I made the mistake of throwing my cigarette butts away in the condo trash on my last day. It apparently left a smell in the condo. They charged me a $160 cleaning fee. I have been staying at Silver Dunes for 40 years including the last 5 five years in a row and have never and would never smoke in unit. They didn’t have the curtesy to respond to my email. From here on out I will be staying on another property. I am coming back in 2 weeks for a week and will not be staying at Silver Dunes that week or ever again. Also, there were no blinds or curtains in the living room and the remotes had no batteries or dead batteries.

Silver Dune Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Always a plus to stay at Silver Dunes. Several concerns of mine that did affect the stay. I was taken back when we first entered the townhouse because there were bunk beds & a fold out in the 2 bedrooms vs 4 doubles as I had last year. Did not see that when we booked the townhouse. I had 5 adults which made sleeping accommodations uncomfortable. that was a game breaker. I rented the property next to this one last year and it was pristine. This property was weathered and not of the quality that I have experienced over the last 25 yrs with my stays at Silver Dunes. I would recommend Silver Dunes and have many times to my friends.

Unit 44 at Silver Dunes Condominiums

Reviewer Comments: Unit 44 is a spacious condo and has a wonderful view but the compliments stop there.Unit 44 is in desperate need of renovation. The cabinets in the kitchen are falling apart, the carpet is old, ragged, dirty. The lower patio needs to be power washed and the whole condo needs painting. Many items such as the ironing board and kitchen items are broken. Unit 44 cost the same as other condos that have been renovated. Not Right! Get your act together unit 44.The staff at Silver Dunes and grounds were lovely.

First time in Destin, we will be back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Silver Dunes, Unit 44 was overall a great experience. Location was great! Pool was so nice and heated! The only thing that was really disappointing was the lack of a washer/dryer in our unit. Some of them had them, some of them did not. I didn’t realize that ours didn’t have one, otherwise I would have rented a different unit. With a family of 6, and limited car space, washer/dryer is a necessity! I didn’t not want to use the one on the property, that’s not convenient. Unit was very clean and updated nicely, beds were very comfortable. Lastly, the code to the gate was written wrong on our car tag. When we tried to call the desk from the front gate no one would answer. Luckily, the car behind us let us in.
