Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had 8 adults and 6 [grand]kids for a wonderful week in Destiny by the Sea. Sun Palace sits as close as you can get to the beach without being one of the on-beach homes, and it's just 2 homes south of the community pool. Plenty of space and amenities for our large family group. We had a couple of maintenance items that arose, but they were promptly fixed with no inconvenience to us at all.

This house is beautiful and well located inside Destiny By the Sea. It was pretty clean in the house, but the carriage house was not so clean. One bedroom in the house can claim to have a shower, but what it really has is a bath tub with a sprayer. It might be perfect if you have young kids, but isn’t great for a 6’ man. Still, we’ve stayed in several houses within Destiny by the Sea and this is a great option for many. Three things need changed to make it perfect: the dishwasher doesn’t clean well, we couldn’t put anything with even a small bit of grease in it; convert the tub into a true shower and the dryer did not work the entire week we were there. The last was a major issue as we had packed knowing we had a washer and dryer.

Great location & very spacious

My husband and I stayed here with our friends and really enjoyed our stay. The beach was steps away and we could hear/view the beach from the balcony. The place had everything we needed to enjoy time away with friends.

Gather & laugh close to the beach

We’re a group of 4 couples on our 10th annual trip to Destin (8 to Destiny By The Sea). Things like proximity to the beach and a space where we can all sit and talk, or play a game, enjoy a fabulous chefs meal (and just enough wine!) together are high on our list. This house checked all those boxes. The management company was prompt, attentive, easy to reach. Well maintained property, well stocked kitchen, lots of storage, comfortable beds. Plus us a separate carriage house with full kitchen that sleeps 10–we didn’t use this but it’d be great for large families!

Sun Palace

Over the past 20 years we have stayed at quite a few of the houses located at Destiny By the Sea. Sun Palace ranks at the top of our list. Everything was first class including a nugget ice maker, an eight burner Italian made gas stove, double ovens and even a warming oven. The Master Bedroom was fantastic and there was plenty of space in the Living Room and Sitting Area for everyone to congregate. We will definitely stay there again.

Spectacular!

There were 10 adults in our party. The home is more spectacular in person! Check-in is a breeze! The home is very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated! The kitchen is very well appointed with 2 full-sized ovens! It’s right across the street from the beach! We had a wonderful time and will definitely book again!

What an amazing multigenerational vacation in a breathtaking house with views of the emerald coast. Fantastic quick responding staff to questions and such. Each suite is well appointed and the beds were super comfy. Just a quick few steps to the gorgeous white sandy beach. Our whole family (17) of us had an amazing time from the 2 year old to the 77 year old. We had a blast and every need was met. The only thing we missed was having bikes available that we thought based on listing would be there and the grill needs rebuilt. But the property manager was going to see that. You will not be sad if you book this property for your next vacation. 5 stars indeed.

Absolute Perfection!

This house was even more beautiful in person (somehow) and had everything we needed/wanted plus some! The beach access was a VERY short walking distance, and the home had all of the amenities as described in perfect working condition. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching and listening to the waves. The interior was stunning and extremely well-kept/clean, and even when we had to call maintenance for a small water leak outside, they responded extremely promptly and had it fixed the same night. The instructions were very clear (parking passes, check-out process/procedure, wristbands, etc.), and everyone from kids to teens to adults in our group loved and enjoyed the home and neighborhood. We will definitely be back again!

I am super delighted with this property. They are very attentive. I experienced that the air in the house was a bit hot and I called and they immediately solved the problem. The comfort of the bed is extraordinary. The decoration is spectacular. My family and I will be back soon. We left more than delighted. we love this house. all the amenities are perfect. rather, there are two houses in one, why on the other side there is a house. smaller but super comfortable.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very nice time on vacation. This home is beautiful and accommodating for our large group. The location is also perfect with great beach access. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the master suite AC was not working when we arrived and the temperature in the suite was in the upper 80's. The management company did respond and put in a space AC which struggled to cool off the whole space. The 2nd floor AC was not working well either but not as hot. They did repair this but the humidity in the home was still high. At the end of the week, the main floor AC was not working at the management company was not able to get anyone one site to repair. They ended up moving the small space AC unit to the first floor. They notified us that someone would be out but never followed up after to say that they couldn't get an AC repair company to respond. I realize these types of things are hard to manage but good communication is always best. My other recommendations would be for additional porch furniture.

Nice place, but…..

Overall the house is nice and mostly as advertised. Perfect for large families and close to the beach (although not ON the beach, which would have been slightly better). Just a few things… 1) check in was terrible, we had to wait out in the rain because we didn’t have the door code even though it was supposed to be provided at 4pm (we got there at 5:30pm). It took at least 10+ min to get ahold of someone before we could get in. 2) elevator works, but most of the bathrooms are not accessible for a wheelchair. Also, if you have someone in a wheelchair who needs beach access, there is NO ramp to get to the beach. We had to take a very challenging / dangerous off-path route to get to the beach which required us to recruit several people to help get our wheelchair bound guest onto the beach. He did rent a wheelchair specifically for sand which was helpful, but I cannot believe they don’t have a ramp. 3) when we arrived the outside trash dumpsters were completely overfilled with a few large trash bags even on the ground. Looked very trashy, pun intended. I notified the host but got no response. Had to even put the extra trash bags in the dumpster myself (and these were disgusting) after the trash truck came. 4) communication with the host was not very personal. The property seems to be operated by a huge rental management company who doesn’t respond to every message or text. They also send some automated messages that are not applicable to the property.

LOVED THIS HOME!!!

Reviewer Comments: We were 6 adults and 1 child in this home & our stay was amazing overall!!!!! We love the quietness, security, location, & of course the exclusivity of the private beach. Our beds were comfortable with the exception of the master suite bed...was TOO firm for my parents, no give whatsoever so they had to move to the double queen room which was much more comfortable for their preference. The only downs I would say is that the house itself & several pieces of furniture could use a good cleaning. It's distasteful for the price of staying in this home & for my level of cleanliness (I am NOT ocd, I just like things not spotted). I understand wear & tear but the fees should include enough for a good spot cleaning of the chairs & sofas at least The beds were beautifully clean & fresh!! We didn't have use of the elevator (we had no prior notice of this) which wasn't optimal for our older guests to get to the master bedroom on the 3rd floor. A little bit better stocked previous houses I've stayed in, in this neighborhood the kitchen had more small appliances, seasoning, sugar/subs, trash bags. Lastly, contact with the customer service. In my previous stays, I was able to contact the customer service of the company through both text & email & got an immediate response. I sent an email to vacation haven about the loose guardrail on the top level of stairs & never got a reply...but when I asked about getting an extended checkout I got a quick no lol...even though I could clearly see there were no guests coming in right after us. So just an overall consistency in getting help. With ALL of that said, I would stay in this home again!! The pros definitely outweigh the cons bc to me the cons are not deal-breakers...just things I would hope you all can improve for your next guests. LOVE the easy check-in, check-out process. All of my guests would stay again so THANK YOU

Great property for our family getaway

We stayed at the Sun Palace for Thanksgiving week and really enjoyed the location -- just steps from the beautiful beach. It was our first trip to the Destin area and we found the location to be convenient for outings all around Destin as well as a day trip to Seaside. The house worked really well for our group, especially being able to utilize the carriage house for my daughter, her husband and two small children to have their own space. 5 stars!
