Review for 4541 Luke Avenue, Destin, FLTravel Dates: 11/13–11/17 Our group of 10 arrived early due to travel disruptions caused by the government shutdown affecting international airports. Although the home was unoccupied, the host was not accommodating of an early check-in, leaving us to walk around town for several hours with all of our luggage. While we understand that early check-ins aren’t always possible, the lack of flexibility—especially given the circumstances and the home’s vacant status—was disappointing.Unfortunately, the condition of the house upon check-in was an even bigger concern. The property had not been properly cleaned from the previous guests. The floor in front of the refrigerator had caked-on dirt, the inside of the garbage can lid was visibly dirty, and multiple surfaces—tables, furniture, and light fixtures—had thick layers of dust. We documented the issues and provided photos to the host immediately upon arrival.While the location was convenient for our stay, the lack of cleanliness and initial inflexibility created a frustrating start to our trip. We hope the host addresses these concerns for future guests.
