Reel Paradise - Destin Gulfgate 0505!

  • What could be better than the perfect elevation and Dolphins in the living room?  This condo is high enough to be above the beach noise and bugs but low enough that you see an expanse of ocean rather than just the horizon.  As you sit at the table there is a feel that you are on a cruise ship looking from your luxury cabin.  And there are dolphins jumping and playing in the room for you.  On top of that there is the 30-foot private balcony for watching the real dolphins as they swim by.  There is a king bed in master BR and Jacuzzi tub/shower in attached bathroom. There are two Queen beds in Guest BR with attached bathroom. Flat TVs in bedrooms and living room. Granite countertops, ice maker in bar area, 1430 sq. feet.  Free beach service March 1st through Sunday after Thanksgiving. (Monthly reservations do not receive complimentary beach set-ups.) Covered reserved parking.  No pets. Sleeps 6.

Beautiful VIEW

Nice condo with beautiful view of the ocean. Near restaurants and shopping. Tracey at the front desk was very friendly and informative about the area.

We had such a wonderful trip! The property was really well-run and we had a pleasant experience with the staff members we met. We will definitely consider staying at Destin Gulfgate again!

I must relate tho the mattress in the King bed was needing replacing. Hopefully it will be replaced soon for future guests. Otherwise rest and relaxation was accomplished.

It was very spacious and provided us plenty of room. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, dishes, pots and pans. The balcony was so nice, large, and the furniture was comfortable. It was really easy to get to the beach. Pete provided us with wonderful beach service. The beach was not crowded at all. There was only a single row of beach chairs. We will definitely come back to Destin Gulfgate!

This is a great place to stay especially those travelling by air, which is only 30 min away, and are limited on what you can bring. They have everything you need. The beach service was top notch!! Every morning the beach was groomed, chairs and umbrella ready and waiting and corn hole too! The beach item borrow bin is a great feature for extra toys and chairs. The location is near everything you need and the beach was not crowded. Can't wait to go back!!

We understand that repairs and upkeep are necessary. We considered this only a mild inconvenience. We would definitely stay again and would recommend the property. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The room was beautiful and pool and beach were great! But the woman manager with black hair was rude. One of our bathrooms was out of service for a night and morning so everyone was crammed into one. Also people woke us up the next morning and were in and out fixing the tub. I know things happen but I expected that night to be refunded but I only got 20% back for one night. It’s too expensive of a stay to have to be inconvenienced that way and the manager to be rude on top of it. She told me I was without a bathroom for a night and that wasn’t a big enough problem to be refunded. I was shocked by her behavior. The rest of the staff were great tho. However I don’t know if we’ll be back since customer service is a big issue.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to DGG for decades. Perfect location and just the right size....with heated pool. The property employees are wonderful. However this time we chose the wrong unit. While the pictures show furniture that is super comfy in reality it is the opposite. The living area furniture is LONG overdue for replacement. The kitchen was well stockedBut the kitchen floor was dirty and the stove needs to be leveled. I would not recommend this unit.Also only one elevator worked during our stay.

The unit was clean, the building was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and we had a great time. A few items of feedback to the unit owner:1. The tile floor in front of the bar needs to be taken out and replaced. 2. The lighting could be updated with some can or recess LED lights... the lamps were not enough at times. 3. The water pressure was really bad for showers. This is critical at the beach to clean out all of the sand. 4. The plugs are old and need to be replaced. Several didn't work correctly or were very hard to plug things into. 5. A large crock pot - would have been super helpful to prepare family dinners.6. The master bedroom mattress and/or mattress topper needs to be replaced. The bed was uneven and made it uncomfortable to sleep on. Thanks for everything!

Comfortable Condo

Reviewer Comments: We stayed in January and due to weather we stayed in room more than being outside. The room was very comfortable and clean. The pans were in need of being replaced but we made due. The parking spot under the building was also a great perk especially with weather. The fact that there would not be beach service in winter was in print but was not communicated very well. Lastly, the condo was getting an order filled for TVs working on the day of our arrival. On Saturday morning at 10 am a knock then door bell was rung to complete a work order about TVs....all were in working order a phone call would have been a better way to discuss addressing Tv work order.

Great location with great views and access to the ocean!!

The kitchen had everything we needed and the ice maker was a nice addition. The living room furniture was very comfortable and a nice place to watch a movie. The best part of course was the view of the beach and ocean! The 5th floor view was the best!! The deck and furniture was a nice place to relax and watch and listen to the ocean when we were not on the beach. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location is excellent, because it is just off the busiest part of Destin, but very close to the best restaurants in Destin, as well as very close to WalMart. It is also within easy walking distance to the Track (go carts and putt putt) and The Back Porch restaurant, which is right on the beach!! We also loved that our section of beach was not very crowded compared to areas just east and west, where the condos are much larger, and the beaches were much more crowded. In our opinion, this is definitely the best place to stay in Destin!!

Destin Gulfgate’s units are spacious with a very large balcony. The pool was heated which made it a perfect place to relax. We well be back in the fall!!
