Unmatched communication

The home was beautiful and perfect for our stay. The location was so convenient. It was close to restaurants as well as the beach. The host responded very quickly when I had questions. This was my very first experience with VRBO, and I’m so pleased with my experience. I definitely recommend this listing!

Needs TLC

The previous renters smoked cigarettes and marijuana in excess in the pool house. Upon opening the door to the pool house, where my daughter and her two small children would be residing during our vacation, we were overcome with the smell of pot and cigarettes. I immediately contacted the owner, who apologized profusely. However, the only solution she had was to have her pest control- property maintenance person come and spray Febreze throughout the pool house and get an ion diffuser to help with the odor. The Febreze only masked the smell and the diffuser only helped in the room it was placed in. The smell remained in the house the entire trip. Our entire first day of the trip was inconvenienced due to this, but we were only offered a small refund. The maintenance person came one other time throughout our stay to check on the pool house, but my daughter and her family had gone in to take a nap and we didn’t want the baby to be disturbed. On top of this we had other issues- The grill did not work properly. We had to finish our grilled shrimp on the stove due to it not cooking at a high enough temperature - waking up two different mornings around 6:00 am to the smoke detector going off - the sheets on the pull out bed in the pool house had not been changed- and the only bath for the babies to use had a faulty plug for the drain. This place desperately needs a full time property manager

Great for a quick family vacation!

Overall experience was great at this property! Great communication with the owner of the property she was able to answer any and all questions we had before and during our stay. Only thing we noticed upon arrival was that the fridge wasn’t very clean, it was empty nothing left in it, but the shelves weren’t cleaned properly, and then the bed in the pool house only had sheets in the beds no comforters were provided for those two beds.

As advertised

Everything about this property was exactly as advertised. This was a perfect property for our 8 adults and 4 children. We loved the location to shops and the beach, loved the pool and the golf cart was extremely handy. We had a fantastic time and have already talked about booking the same location next year!

Relaxing and comfortable

We had a great stay. The owner was very responsive and the house was great. The golf cart was very nice and used all the time. Location was perfect. We will be back.

Disappointing stay due to overdue maintenance/upkeep

While this location is ideal and the golf cart is convenient, much of the home is overdue for maintenance and repairs, including some that appeared hazardous: Exposed wires hanging from walls/2 rooms; Rusty metal floor vent bent upwards; Rusty bathroom towel rack; Shower doors off track; Smoke detectors disabled; Large holes/1 wall and door; Fallen siding from roof; Chunks of flooring missing; Rotten wood planks/porch by pool; Overgrown bush by pool/snake seen; Birds' nests on outdoor speakers; Jagged wood piece sticking up/picnic bench; 1 backyard gate door held together with twine/wouldn’t stay shut; Broken pool light; Air vents caked with dirt; Dirt/handprints some walls/railings; Broken furniture handles; Clothes dryer didn’t work properly; Kitchen trash can broken; Bedroom shade stuck; Some very old TVs; Outdated bathrooms. The owner was responsive and attempted to get the pool light fixed but was unable to do so. She provided a $200 refund (equivalent to 2% of our rental cost) as a “gesture of goodwill,” even though a well-lit pool was shown as part of the home’s amenities. 3 days into our stay, the owner asked if we would like to have a maintenance person sent to the home. We declined; we only had 3 full days left and did not feel it was appropriate to have the remainder of our time disrupted by overdue repairs/cleaning. This was a costly rental for the upkeep needed. We shared this list and photos with the owner and requested a partial refund, which was denied.

Great for entire family!

The size, location and amenities were perfect for our three generations. Between the pool house and main house, we had tons of room for the size of our group. The house was in a great location, with walking distance to the beach or a short golf cart ride away. The host was super responsive and even had beach towels delivered when I asked if there were any at the house. It was nice not having to pack any! Would definitely stay again if we head back to Destin.

Great place for family!

Our group of two families really enjoyed this property! A few minor maintenance issues, but the host was very responsive and got someone to fix them right away. The pool was a nice warm temperature and enjoyed by our kids. The golf cart is really great to cruise around the area and to the beach. Lots of sleeping space as well as a fully stocked kitchen.

Great Location to the Beach

Property was as advertised. Parking may have been overstated, we could only fit 4 SUV's along with the golf cart. Not 6 as stated. Pool light did not work, so swimming at night was limited. Property manager was very responsive to issues that occurred and quick to provide resources to rectify the situations.

Perfect Location

We were thrilled with the location of this property and its proximity to the beach, the Destin Commons area, and all the restaurants. The house provided plenty of space for our large family and everyone had their own individual space when needed. It was really nice having the pool on the The property host was very helpful and responded timely when I had questions. We will definitely stay here again when in Destin.

Best location in Destin

House was in perfect location with a short golf cart ride to beach or any restaurant you can imagine. Owner was very responsive to any issue that came up. The old golf cart broke and she delivered a brand new 2022 6 seater ride, could not be any happier with the communication. The house is on a bit busy street so kids could ride in streets without any worries.

Impressed for my first vacation home rental

I loved the set up of the home. It was spacious and had enough room for everyone! House is just as pictured!! We all loved the convenience of the golf cart and how close the home was to the beach!! The kids absolutely loved the pool, and so did the adults. We had some concerns apon arrival but it was taken care of in 30min or less. Everyone was so nice and the response of the rental owner was very quick! I would definitely stay at this home again in the future!

2021 Family Vacation and 40th Birthday Fun

Our family had a wonderful time and made some great memories. The property was just as advertised. The only issue we had was the air conditioner was not on when we arrived which made it very uncomfortable trying to unpack. We got it on and took some time to cool down but it take that long to cool down. Very close to the beach and the golf cart definitely came in handy. Hurricane ida put a damper on the last 3 days of our vacation but we still had a wonderful time. We are from Louisiana and we were spared damage, but our thoughts and prayers are with all those that were in Ida’s path. Thank you Karrie for sharing your home with us. Additional note the home was very well stocked with towels, soaps, paper towels and garbage bags.
