Disappointing

We were aware of the outdoor pool being closed due to construction, however, the pool was the least of our concerns. The boardwalk leading to the beach was constantly under construction which made getting to and from the beach stressful. At one point during our stay, two of the stairs had been removed and we were assisted by a construction worker. The entire project seemed mismanaged and poorly executed, not to mention unsafe. I did file a complaint with onsite management regarding my concerns and was told that someone would be getting back with me. Needless to say, there was never a follow up call. I believe that we were misled as to the extent of the construction and we would have NEVER booked our stay had we been made aware of the full extent of the project. We have made many trips to Destin over the last 25 years and I have never once written a negative review. I would NOT recommend Sundestin to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Unit as expected but resort was not

The unit was as expected. It was clean and updated. The only suggestions for the unit is to replace the noisy icemaker and to get a key for the safe so it can be used. The view was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! However, the resort is a different story. It is dated and rundown. Construction was underway and the outdoor pool was closed. This meant that the indoor pool was full all the time! Also, the indoor hot tub and steam room were "out of order" so the outdoor hot tub was always crowded and often standing room only! There were 4 elevators but only 3 were working. Both trash chutes were out of service so you had to leave your trash in the hallways for pickup (it would often be there for hours and sometimes overnight). There were 2 treadmills and only 1 of them worked. Parking was crowded due to construction trailers and workers taking up spaces. The front entryway would not allow you to even pull up to the front door to unload the car. While we had to sign an extensive agreement to stay at this facility stating that smoking was strictly prohibited, during our first 2 days there we had to contact hotel staff on multiple occasions due to a neighboring smoker who prohibited us from sitting on our balcony. It started again the evening before we checked out. The restaurant/bar was good (we really liked the bartender) but was surprised that breakfast was only served on Fri/Sat/Sun mornings. This was our first trip to Destin and probably our last. Disappointed!

Father’s Day Weekend

The stay was great. Loved the Condo. There were two concerns: the four elevators were not working, had long waits and very crowded. There was not enough luggage carts.

Will never comeback here

Unit had a strong musty smell as soon as I opened the door. Couch had stains all over it. Front desk called to report someone witnessed smoking around the area and continued to gripe until I interrupted her and said “NO ONE IN MY FAMILY SMOKES! We’ve been inside watching Sonic the Hedgehog movie.” She eventually believed me… but what the heck? You better count the floors right if you are gonna call a guest and accuse them of smoking. Next gripe- the unit overall felt dingy and old. Not worth the price by any stretch. The condo does not provide beach umbrellas and chairs like most other condos in Destin. Instead they offer to rent you some for $40-$50 per day. Also they stacked them 4 rows deep and nothing in the front row was available ever. So your view of the Shore is obstructed by 3 other rows of people . Worst part- they will not let you bring your own umbrella, so if you want ANY shade you must rent a 3rd or 4th row umbrella for $40. This is a scam and they know it. I hate this place and everything about it. Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else.

Condo on the beach

It was a great view. The hot tub was not working. Needs a new bed but I'm use to a temperpedic. Outside A/C is on the small balcony which is kind of loud and in the way.

Spectacular Views

The views from the property are spectacular. The unit itself could use some furniture updates. The bed and couch were very uncomfortable. Our cable was out on the first night but was quickly fixed the next day. Management should enforce the no smoking policy better. There were several people smoking near the hot tub. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
