  • Islander Condo # 316 es un West View, unidad de oro que tiene capacidad para 6 personas. Great location!

We enjoyed our quick weekend getaway. The location was perfect for easy access to the beach, shopping and restaurants. We will be back!

Close to Everything and Great Location!

The location is perfect!The closet door in the guest room was broken, but couldn’t use the closet bc of the bunks so it didn’t make a difference. Will def stay there again!

The unit was very clean and just as described. The kitchen is nicely stocked with pots, pans, silverware. The view off of the balcony is lovely and we loved hearing the night sounds of the frogs from the wetland area sitting out there in the evening after sunset.

Awesome, quiet getaway

Reviewer Comments: This is my 3th time staying at the Islander and it is always well-kept, spacious, and practical. 316 is just as good as the other units where I have stayed, even though the cost is lower. The view is not as good from this side, but exactly as advertised.

It was just okay. If you are looking for a place within walking distance of restaurants, this is not the place. It’s in a very residential area. The access to the beach and pools was very nice. The condo is aged, needs updated, but pictures are accurate. The top bunk of the bunk beds is awful, there was a memory foam bed topper in the closet and I did add it so my grandson could sleep comfortably. We were able to check in early, so that was a plus. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly, and the staff was very helpful. The water was shut off on our last night so that was a major inconvenience. The dishwasher worked all week except on the last day, it literally wouldn’t turn on. Plenty of towels, plenty of kitchen utensils, etc. there wasn’t any seasonings or anything leftover from the last guests like a usual VRBO; so prepare accordingly. We used Destin Grocery Girls for grocery delivery and set up prior to arrival. I didn’t get any response from the host when trying to arrange delivery. We also used Beach Crib rentals for coolers, wagon, and sand toys, but did so after we arrived. There are no chairs or any beach items in this unit. There is a shared box at the beach, we left our surf boards for the next kiddos that want to have fun. Beach taxi is not what it’s cracked up to be if you’re going to Harbor Walk. Overall, not a horrible place, but we’ve stayed much nicer for the same price.

Vacation Stay in Islander

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was good. Did have some problems with the dishwasher and garbage but garbage disposal was fixed promptly and the dishwasher could have the detergent left for us to use but the dishes did not clean and I had to do them by hand. Also it would have been nice to have at least had salt and pepper there.

The power went out and the TV did not work for most of the day. I reported the issues to the front desk and maintenance addressed most of the issues. Overall, it was OK.

Reviewer Comments: We have been staying at the Allender for over 15 years, I was very disappointed at the cleanliness of our room. We found hairs in the sheets on the floor and on our towels. Even the toilet was dirty. The trash chutes were broken and this made it very inconvenient

Pros and Cons

PROS: The unit looked just like it is presented in the pictures. Location and distance to the beach was very good. Kitchen had necessities. Beds were comfortable. CONS: Immediately upon entering the unit, there was a strong odor of cigarette smoke. My daughter is allergic and immediately began to feel nauseous and got a bad headache. I made several attempts to contact the host to see if by chance another unit was available. Never got a response! After driving to Walmart and purchasing fragrance plugins, fabric deodorizer and medication for my daughter, the unit was bearable. I never received a response back from the host. Not good hosting skills at all, so this feedback will probably never make it to the VRBO website.

Mother daughter trip

The location and views were fantastic. Condo was clean but could use some updating. Couch and carpet need to be replaced. Had all the amenities we needed. Pool was clean and beach access was easy to get to. All in all we had an amazing time.

Great spot

Located in a primarily residential area so it was much more peaceful than the “tourist areas”. Beach was awesome, beach service was a huge plus. Guest services was very helpful. Best part was sitting on the patio with a view of the pool and bay.

Nice views

The unit was fairly clean, but had very little in the way of necessities. There was no dish soap, coffee filters, only one extra roll of toilet paper, no extras at all. It was a great location to the pool and short walk to the beach. We loved having our own chairs by the beach, definitely a perk. The resort area was beautiful, nice sizes pools, games out side for the kids to play. Overall it was a good start to our vacation.

My daughter and I had a great time here. Friendly staff. We really enjoyed the location and the chairs/umbrella on the beach. 10/10 would stay again.

September Islander stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The staff at the Islander are always terrific, thank you. The reservation process is a breeze! I've been coming to the Islander for over 20 years now and love the location and experience. This year, I was a little dissapointed at some of the cleanliness issues. The elevators were having issues and some of the areas around the grounds were not as clean and organized as they have historically been. I was especially dissapointed at all the smoking in and around the facility since it is a non-smoking facility. The condo, hallways, elevators, and even beach had smokers and smoke everywhere. It would be nice if we could truly have a non-smoking section of chairs at the beach that was upwind from the smokers that way the smoke didn't waft towards those of us that prefer no smoke. I'll be back, but hope that the cleanliness and smoke issues are worked on for the future.

The Islander 316 Destin, FL

I thought the property was ok. Positives were that it was a great location and the beach was quiet. Unit included beach service that was very easy to get each morning. Pools had tons of umbrellas and chairs. Negatives, master had no comforter, just a sheet and a very thin blanket and only 2 pillows. NO washer/dryer in unit. Understand that up front, I missed it when I booked. They claimed there was an easy laundromat on the second floor, which there is. Problem is there are only 6 washers and dryers for the complex. Wasted several trips down with washers full already. With family of 5, I definitely would not stay here again because of the laundry issue. They advertise a towel exchange but that’s the least of my worries with clothes, swimsuits, and beach towels. Also, it’s about a 6 min walk to the beach. Another negative is room keys, you need them to get to the beach and in the room. Needs to be a code, it’s a pain.
