“This secluded home on a remote lake was very peaceful. This place is ultra clean, very spacious, and ideal for a family or friends. We appreciated the ‘no pet’ rule as both of us are sensitive. It’s close to Rice Lake for restaurants and local events there. Carrie also decorated this place with a simple but elegant understated beauty, so it was easy to maintain for us. “Codax retreat was a fantastic home for our family of 14 people (ages 2-60). We did have to get creative with sleeping situations with kids as some of the sleeping areas are in the loft which is very open. We comfortably slept 8 adults in beds and 2 kids in the bunk beds. The other four kids slept on kid air mattresses (not provided). The 2.5 bathrooms were great to have. The open space was great and the garage - the kids LOVED. “We had the most amazing time at Chuck and Sherry's. Our family will cherish their memories on the lake (the pontoon was an absolute blast), on the dock catching fish after fish, and watching the sun set over the beautiful lakefront view. They were amazing hosts - available whenever needed but leaving us to enjoy our stay as well. Getting to see some awesome horses was just icing on the cake. We're already booked up for a return next summer and can't wait. ”

“We had an amazing long weekend! Our dog had the time of her life running around and stalking fish from the dock. You can't beat the privacy and the lakefront access. The cabin was well stocked with all necessities-- including beach towels! The grill was awesome and we loved fishing off the dock!”

“Beautiful, clean home with a cozy cabin feel. House was very clean, kitchen has all pots/pans/utensils you could need. Water front is very shallow and great for lounging in chairs in the water while the kids swim and play. Dock was good for our pontoon and the fishing around Sand Lake was even better! Our boys caught 15 fish almost everyday! Mainly bass, a few pike, and the best grand finale on our last day: a Muskie!! It was a relaxing and comfortable week. ”
