“The entire hotel stinks we couldn’t sleep with the odor to cigarette bathroom smelling like pee poor cleaning all over, I can’t even stay in the lobby smell was just terrible i think is a good hotel just need a better cleaning price was also very fair”

“The non smoking room smelled of stale cigarettes. Bugs alive and dead. Towels were not completely dry. The door to our room stuck and we were unable to open it without another guest’s help pushing from the outside. Would not recommend this property.”

“South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire.”

“The rental was adequate but the kitchen was older, despite the cabinets being painted and the hardware being replaced. The appliances need replacing, including the coffee pot, and the seal around the kitchen sink had mildew, which made cooking unappealing. The hot tub was a nice addition, however, it snowed while we were there making the steps to get in and out slippery and very cold. Also, there is a rental unit above this ground floor unit, and if people walk on the floor late at night, which...
