Absolutely stunning views. The house is well-maintained, and in the best location imaginable. There is tons of privacy, but close enough to 550 hwy to access anything in the area. I could not recommend this house enough. Although it is pricey, it is worth every penny. Simply beautiful property.

Gorgeous view!!

Great house! The thing that really made it was the back deck with the amazing view. We sat out there every evening enjoying the nature & incredible views! Highly recommend :)

It was awesome only problem we had was trying to sit on those hard stoop at the table to eat and play cards if you had 4 chairs like the two you have in the house it would’ve been an A plus vacation

Amazing views!

This was a wonderful place for my family and I to stay for vacation on the 4th of July. There was plenty of room with plenty of kitchen utensils for cooking when we felt like staying in. However, the drive into Durango isn’t bad if you’d rather eat out. Overall, it’s very nice VRBO.

So beautiful

This property looks amazing in the photos but wait until you walk in the front door! We couldn't get enough of the lake view and stargazing from the patio. Plenty of room for a large family. We will definately stay again.

Epic Property with Lake & Mountain Views

The house & property were perfect for our visit to the Durango area. The views are spectacular any time of day from every room and the back deck was our coffee & cocktail spot for hours! The house felt like a home and has so much character. Super convenient location yet remote and very quiet. Would absolutely stay here again! Area hints: James Ranch burgers YUM, easy hikes at Haviland Lake or horse back rides, county road 250 through the river valley & of course the drive to Ouray & Ridgway (check out the Dennis Weaver Memorial Park in Ridgway) Thank you for a great vacation!!!

Relaxing Winter Stay..

No complaints. Listing is accurate. Read listing careful. The listing emphasizes "4x4 and or chains" driveway has a steep incline with ice and snow this time of year. Our 4x4s suited us well. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: What a beautiful location high above a lake near Purgory Ski Area in San Juan Mountain Range near Durango Colorado. Our yearly trip to some interesting location with our family moves around from hot to cold climates and this year was the best due to the beautiful home with gran vistas of mountains, snow, lake, and seclusion. Could not have been better. I highly recommend it to all.

Great house for families

The house is spacious and comfortable. It’s close to skiing, which is a great plus. It is very very remote Far from stores, restaurants,etc. the road to the house is narrow,winding and dark. If it snows chains and a good 4 wheel drive needed. Very spacious for our family of 10. Beautiful lake and Mountain Views We had an issue with the water early in the morning, before office hours. I left a message and text and was contacted very quickly. Our interaction was so helpful and the situation was handled. Very impressed and appreciative.

Enjoyed Our Stay

The house and accomadations were great. The view is awesome. There is a lock on a bedroom door that isn't working. The bed pillows were really flat. The shower handle in the master bath is difficult to turn and operate. All in all, this was our favorite house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we weren't ready to leave. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house. We hope to be back.

The price is ok.

We stayed here for 4 nights, the check in process of having to use a manual key is not easy. Every time you leave you have to put it back in the lock box. If I’m paying this much for a place it needs to be updated technology wise to make it easier. Also we need more fans for during the day when it’s hotter. Other than that the place is great!

Lakeview Legacy

This home is beautiful, spacious and cozy! The view is amazing and our family had a great time! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again. One thing I will say is that it snowed a LOT while we were there and I would definitely reiterate the fact that you WILL need snow chains AND 4 wheel drive.

Beautiful view of surrounding mountains and trees

It was good except second payment didn’t go through because credit card on file was not in system so I had to track down a person in the Red Cliff office and give them second payment on order to pay on time!!

AWESOME! Beautiful country & this home was just as beautiful..

This home was everything we wanted. Near enough to Durango, yet far enough away to have spectacular views and hear the wind blow thru the pines. Every window in this lovely home gave you a view. Clean, comfortable, all the conveniences of home and wonderfully furnished.

An Absolutely Amazing Home!

My family stayed at this home during our annual summer off-roading trip to the Alpine Loop. This house stunning! It sits above a lake and is tucked into the woods. Even though the lake was not completely full (as the dam undergoes repairs), it was still amazing! The views from the deck were just perfect. The house is in a neighborhood that has dirt roads, but the driveway to the house is paved. Even though we did get one of our trucks with a trailer up the driveway, it really is not designed for a truck towing a trailer. This was not an issue as it was actually easier to find a place to park the trailers in Silverton, close to where we were spending our days. This was by far the nicest, most beautiful house we have ever stayed at. Simply amazing!
