Luxury Townhome - Ski in/Ski Out - Foosball - Best Location

  • Our 3,000 sq ft, 5 bdrm, 4 bath Elkpoint townhome (Unit 6) is one of the few true ski in/ski out properties at Purgatory Resort built right on the slopes and just a short walk/ski to the main plaza. The gourmet kitchen has granite counter tops and includes a bar with seating and opens to the main living space and dining area, giving you plenty of space to relax with family and friends. The 2nd living space on the bottom floor is perfect for the kids with a Foosball Table and TV. The master bedroom has a gas fireplace while the bathroom has a jacuzzi tub. The townhome has a washer/dryer, WIFI and an attached heated 1 car garage that has plenty of storage room for gear and there is an additional parking space in front of the garage.

    The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. For an additional (and optional) 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. When booking, just advise if you would like us to add the additional 4% resort fee.

    This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

    Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

    Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was perfect for our group of friends! This location is a perfect ski in/out, you can walk from the back porch and either take the hill down to the bunny slope or just walk a bit further to the main lift. The jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom would not hold water, so we had some bummed little girls who wanted to take a bubble bath. Other than that, the house is well stocked, it was clean upon our arrival and the check out process was simple. Would def stay here again simply because of the convenient location!

Another fabulous trip..

We REALLY enjoy the Elk Point condos - can’t beat them for proximity to lifts and base area. There were a few things in the kitchen that would have been helpful - ie a cookie sheet/sheet pan - but it all worked out! We’ll definitely be back!

Absolute Perfect Location

This was our second year at Purgatory and this location was a game changer. So nice to be able to walk a few steps to the house from lift, take our boots off, grab lunch or a snack, and then head right back out for more skiing. The home was very spacious and accommodated our group of 12(6 adults & 6 kids ages 10-160 perfectly. Staff was very responsive to questions and a couple of minor items that needed attention in the home. We look froward to returning in the near future. Highly recommend this property and Purgatory Resort.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was beautiful and with the large amounts of late snow we were one of the few homes that were truly ski in and ski out. We had plenty of room and nice furnishings. And the kids could go right out the back door and play and only a few minute walk to the lodge. Only thing was the water pressure in 2 showers was really low. Great stay!

Best Spot at Purg

We have stayed just about everywhere at Purg including the Pinnacle Suite at the resort and this place beat them all. You can board all the way down the mountain, right up to the gorgeous back entrance. The patio is an awesome spot to rest and people watch. We thought the upstairs was going to be too hot and the basement too cold, but all floors were individually regulated and comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook 3 meals a day and do laundry before heading home. The garage parking was nice, too. Clean place, fast responses from owner. We had a great Christmas here!

Very good location and nice townhouse

The location of this townhouse can't be beat. It's right on the graduate slopes and very easy to ski-in and out with an extremely short walk. The house itself appears to be well-maintained and everyone was happy with the comfort of the beds. It would be nice to have a few more extra blankets so that we didn't keep the heat so high at night. The kitchen had plenty of plates, but not very many forks so we had to do dishes pretty frequently. When we mentioned needing a useable frying pan, the management company brought one to us the very next day which was much appreciated. Overall, the townhouse was very good location and very comfortable to be in, but if you're planning to cook most of your meals there, the cooking equipment is pretty basic.

Great place to stay in Durango

We had an amazing time here. We were a large party and there was sufficient room for everyone. The only complains we have were of the cleanliness and the offered amenities in the listing. There were cobwebs all over the light fixtures and windows. We also found mouse droppings in the master bedroom in the dresser drawers. We're were also not allowed to use the hot tub or the pool. We were told by the lodging staff that those amenities are only for guests of the central lodge area. Anyone staying at the individually managed properties could not use the pool or hot tub. Aside from that we did enjoy our stay and would consider booking again.

Christmas getaway

This was an amazing place to stay we did encounter a few issues on the second floor bedrooms we had one room with a large separation in the window from the wall we had to stuff washcloths to keep out the cold, the upstairs bedroom the tub does not close so we were unable to use the whirlpool tub. Kitchen could have used a good scrubbing when I was on the floor to clean up a spill I noticed how filthily the cabinets were they defiantly hadn't been wiped in some time. The views were amazing if repair and cleaning were addressed we defiantly would come back and spend more time, Don't get me wrong the place is worth the money just needs a few things addressed.

However, the property is in need of a deep cleaning. Cobb webs issues, screens missing from windows, accumulated dust in the corners of the floor, 3 coffee makers none of which worked and were dirty. Management did provided a new Mr. Coffee after reporting coffee maker issue. Dishes and flatware appeared to be unclean. Overall disappointed with the cleaniness.

Great location!

We came here with our families to ski. Location cannot be beat! Ski down to the graduate lift or short walk up to lift 1. Ski right back to the back porch at the end of the day. Access to the purgatory hot tub after a long day of skiing. Beds were super comfortable! The few suggestions I have: There are 4 bathrooms, but they only gave us toiletries for 2 of them and the website says we have to buy more. Not a huge deal, but would have expected to have a box for each bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans but only had one wine glass and a few regular glasses. No kid cups either. Needs a restock.The master fireplace (and/or remote) didn't work. The downstairs fireplace remote needs to be replaced. We needed pillowcases for the extra pillows.With the few minor changes mentioned above, this place would be the best! Even without the changes, I would still recommend and stay here again.Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Our family had a few units that were near each other but i loved this location the best! This was the perfect size for my sisters family and ours. Lots of beds and everyone had their space. Lots of stairs but that helped get us in shape for the elevation haha. We loved that we could walk straight to the lodge and pool/workout room. Its in small print but be aware that there is an extra charge if you want to use the pool/hot tub/ workout room. We used those daily so it was worth the extra charge.As far as working with the management, they were always quick to respond to our questions and one day, there was a bad smell in the water in the master bathroom. We contacted the management and they were quick to reply and look into that. We will be coming back!

Reviewer Comments: Location of this Condo is perfect, however we had many issues. The place was very dirty. Windows had hand prints, dirt, and cobwebs. Very minimal pillows and linens. Water fixtures were dirty and had lots of calcium build up due to the water softener having no salt. Bbq pit was so nasty we didn’t attempt to use it. Dishes, pots and pans all had to be washed before use. Water pressure was low throughout the house. I can deal with a few issues, but not the lack of cleanliness for $12k/week. I would not recommend this place and will not stay there again.

The property itself was great. View from back porch was awesome. Located extremely close to the main beginner ski lift at Purgatory and clubhouse if anyone is considering it during ski season. Overall, very nice place but needs to be managed better. The hard water filter apparently failed the day we were to check in and we were notified very close to check in time. It was supposed to be fixed the next day and wasn’t. However, it was not nearly as noticeable as we expected it to be and had they not said anything we wouldn’t have noticed at all. The cleaning crew left a garbage can in the kitchen full of trash, there was very old coffee in the coffee pot, and the large windows facing pool/ski lift and mountains were covered with cobwebs outside and really need to be cleaned. There was also no propane for the grill. And one of the screens on an upstairs window kept falling off. That said, the property is nice enough and ideally located within Purgatory. We would definitely give it a second chance and would hope not to experience the stated, avoidable issues.

Nice location, many problems with condo

We stayed at the La Plata County, Elk Point Lodge from 7/7/22-7/10/22. The location is lovely however we encountered some issues with the condo that initially seemed small, but the problems kept occurring. One example is the refrigerator. It was not cooling properly and we had items that if we had not pulled from the refrigerator and put in our own cooler with ice, would spoil. The ice maker didn't work at all, one of the bathroom faucets leaked from its base, the outside grill was filthy, one of my family members found a plastic bag with items still in it from a takeout place in her bedroom, the cutlery and coffee mugs smelled weird, the coffee maker kept beeping for it to be 'cleaned'--individually, these are not huge issues, but collectively each issue took time away from our vacation. Please know that three nights here cost thousands of dollars. When I called to express my annoyance the management frankly didn't care and said that they had addressed each issue when I brought it to their attention (true). Fine. But I feel like it took time away from my vacation to 'vet' these issues, not my job! and not the kind of thing I wanted to do, particularly on a vacation. Honestly for the amount of money I paid, I should not have had to deal with ANY of these issues --- further, please note that the pool and hot tub are NOT part of the fee you pay, even though the photos show the pool, hot tub as part of the experience. You must pay an extra 4% to use the 'amenities' for these things. Although the location is really nice, I would steer you away from this particular condo, and perhaps this kind of management.

Family Vacation

This property is just as listed! The location to Purgatory Resort is perfect as you can see some of the activities from the living room. It is a short walk to the pool and hot tub if you purchase access to it. It rained 4 of our five days so everything was not able to open, but rain in this area is much needed! It was quiet and very easy access! It was a great family vacation !

We cooked most meals at the house and the kitchen had everything we needed. The pool was close by and the kids enjoyed swimming every day. I would stay here again.

Best location on the mountain

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the first time visiting Purgatory. The townhouse was everything it was advertised. The ski in/ski out location was awesome and the inside was immaculate and luxurious. We were a group of 5 guys and there was plenty of room for all of us and the amenities were great. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay there again!
