Entirely wonderful

Property was more spacious than I’d expected, neighborhood was lovely, proximity to Cape Cod National Seashore was extraordinarily convenient. House had everything we needed.

Great location in Eastham near Orleans. Surf Shack Hideaway is not a shack, but rather a very large uncomfortable house to stay in. Would come back again, especially if managed by Heart of the Cape who kept everything clean and had quick communications.

Mother/Daughter Getaway

The perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Comfortable and modern accommodations close to beach and restaurants. Quiet location off the beaten path. Tara was very responsive and helpful as needed. Would definitely rent again!

Cozy and spacious all in one

Beautiful property perfect for one nuclear family or that plus grandparents. Serenely located with Nauset marshes peeking through and easy walk to Fort Hill.

We had a great few days in Eastham. We absolutely loved the house - beautiful, impeccably clean, comfortable, well-stocked, great layout and fantastic location! Tara was great too, checking in to see if there was anything we needed. Very happy with Heart of Cape Cod.

Beautiful house in perfect location!

Our family booked a spontaneous weekend in April, and we will sure be back! This beautiful spacious house was spotless when we arrived, and the arrival treats for our 2 legged and 4 legged boys was a thoughtful touch! Our family used the bikes and kayaks that were available, explored the coves and beaches with our dogs. It was the perfect place for our getaway!

Great birthday weekend getaway

The house and location were great. Close enough to feel like we could easily get to the beach, hikes, and restaurants. The rooms are large and comfortable. The hosts were very responsive and answered all our questions in a timely manner. There is a very useful house manual that was invaluable in making our stay easier. Sadly we weren't able to take advantage of the Kayaks and paddle boards since we didn't have an easy way to reach the water access, which is a slight walk from the house.

2 weeks in paradise

What a wonderful experience we had spending 2 precious weeks on the Cape with the surf shack as our home base! Location is perfect to go to so many breathtaking beaches (we bought a beach sticker for the bay beaches in Eastham and used it daily)... The house was spacious, clean and comfortable with a great kitchen to cook in every night. Friendly neighbors and a lovely little inlet to walk down to, plus fort hill right next door for more great walks. Thank you for everything and making our stay truly memorable.

Cape Escape

Wonderful time at this home. Perfect escape especially for off season. House was immaculate. Master bed was very comfortable. Couches and living room were great! Very clean. Had essential like paper towels to get us started which was more than enough for our stay. Very quiet location. And we appreciated being able to bring our dog.

Perfect getaway

Simply a great time at the Surf Shack! It started with Tara from Heart of Cape Cod. She was very responsive to my inquiry before booking as well as questions I had after we arrived. She told me the only thing we would need to bring is sunscreen and that was the truth! This home has everything you need and more. It was clean, updated, and in a quiet location. The best part of all was being able to bring our dogs along with us. Thanks so much! Can’t wait to return!

Wonderful !

The Surf Shack Hideaway was the perfect home for our cape getaway . It was exactly as described on the website and the neighborhood was lovely and very peaceful . Listening to the various birds in the backyard every morning was such a treat & my golden doodle loved exploring the marshlands just a few minutes walk from the house . The modern kitchen was nice and well appointed with cookware, pots, pans and a variety of spices , We also loved the decor and the soothing colors in the living room with the sliding doors open letting the fresh breeze and light in . There were an abundance of books to read and games to play , fortunately we had excellent weather so we headed for the beautiful national seashores which are a short drive from the house . I have been coming to the Cape for the past fifty years and this location was absolutely wonderful !

Private outer cape oasis

What a lovely fall retreat spot! We found the location so convenient to lots of mid-Cape and outer-Cape destinations and appreciated that the property was very private--there were some neighbors still in residence so it didn't feel isolated. On arrival, we found the house to be well-cleaned and the homemade cookies from Tara were a nice touch. Beds were incredibly comfortable and the water pressure was excellent. WiFi seemed reliable and the Roku TV was easy to navigate. Everything was very pet-friendly! The short walk to the neighborhood water access at the marsh was lovely this time of year-- definitely pack shoes you don't mind getting wet for exploring the shoreline. Don't miss the Fort Hill trails and overlook. We loved the house and look forward to visiting again!

Great Weekend - Thank You!

We had a great time at this beautiful house near the Salt Pond. I come to the Cape regularly for work and my wife and I stay in lots of different rental properties, and this was one of the best. Tara was a fantastic host who was regularly in contact with us, and she made the check-in very easy. And the personal touches that she had waiting for us were just so appreciated! I really have to mention how spotless the place was when we arrived, too. We've learned not to take that for granted - thank you! And we were also pleased and delighted to discover that there were even some supplies in the kitchen - spice rack, coffee, even cold filtered water waiting in the refrigerator - all of which are signs that this host is so professional and goes the extra mile to make sure we're comfortable. Thanks for a great weekend. We'll be back.

Relaxing Off Season Spring Break

Our stay was relaxing and exactly what we were looking for. Our family is myself and husband and two kids ages 13 & 16. We knew coming to Cape Cod the end of March the weather would be cooler and stores might but all be open. We arrived Monday evening and ordered take out which was super fast delivery from Papa Gino's. Since it was overcast and rainy we played some of the games available in the home and watched movies. Even being off season we found the was plenty open for our needs. A grocery right down the street and several good looking restaurants. We were a short drive to either end of the Cape making Eastham the perfect home base for us to travel in the day. We took a day trip to Boston and one to Provincetown. The home was very very clean and had the perfect amount of starter essentials for our short stay of 3 nights. My son forgot his toothbrush and it was nice that there was one there for him. The price was great for an off season stay and the neighborhood was quiet and comforting. We felt very safe.
