Quisiera vivir ahí...
Ubicación inmejorable, justo en la Royal Mile, el departamento muy bonito y bien equipado, la vista desde las habitaciones súper linda, a Arthur's seat. Me encantaba despertar ahí :) El check out es un poco temprano en mi opinión, a las 10:00 am. pero la atención fue muy buena y me permitieron hacer check out más tarde para no traer cargando mis maletas. Muy recomendado, sí regresaré. Unbeatable location, right in the Royal Mile. The appartment is very pretty and well equipted. The view from the rooms was very nice (Arthur's seat), I loved waking up there! Check out is a bit early for me (10:00 am), but the attention was really good and they allowed me a late check out so I wasn't carrying around my luggage. Very recommended, I will come back.

Bellissima mansarda al 5 piano con ascensore molto accogliente in pieno centro, arredata con molto buon gusto, molto ben riscaldata, con due camere due bagni. Tutti i conforto. Consiglio vivamente, sotto casa c'è ufficio tour Scozia in italiano comodissimo.

L'appartamento e' molto spazioso per 4 persone. Eccelente la ubicazione in quanto molto vicino al centro citta. Tutto ok tranne gli spiferi d'aria dalle finestre in camera con 2 letti singoli. Era fastidioso avendo la testa proprio sotto la finestra. Invece nella camera matrimoniale non c'è stato questo problema.

The apartment has been newly furnished and is spacious for a group of four. It has full set of cooking utensils and two bathrooms, which is rare. The noisy water flow in the pipes is the only defect.

We liked having an apartment in the center of town. We had all the kitchenware and towels we needed. It was a bit complicated to figure out the hot water for the shower. I suggest to provide a manual for the appliances. Water pressure was also low in the shower.

Everything was really great, very clean, and I was very impressed. It was very warm, and I did not figure out the portable fans weren't just heaters until our last day!! My only - very minor - issues were using the washer /dryer, and the shower. We do not have electric showers in the US, so it took me a while to figure it out. 😊 It was a nice apartment, excellent location, and we were very pleased.

Room for improvement
The flat was lovely, but there were three major issues. The en-suite bathroom: smells of damp and raw sewage every time the water is turned on elsewhere in the flat (i.e. the kitchen or other bathroom), and there is damp damage around the base of the shower, and that power shower has low pressure. The double room: double bed mattress is probably in need of replacing as it dips where it seems a lot of people have slept on already. The entrances: There is a LOT of pigeon feces leading into the apartment building and the apartment itself. I am aware this might not the fault of Old Town Apartments and rather the fault of the building owner, but the really need to lobby them to spray wash that daily so it doesn’t build it. There were no pigeons in sight so it was clearly something that has build up over weeks/months. This apartment is really lovely and if not for these issues with comfort and cleanliness I would have given it 5 stars, but there were issues that were impossible to ignore. Also, the place asked for a deposit over email, which is of course, was unsecured and even suspicious. There must be a better and more secure way to take deposits in 2019. I would even rather pay more up front to be issued a refund at the end of the stay as you know it will be more secure than provided card details over an email that could be easily hacked on either end with no guarantee your card numbers will be destroyed securely. If these changes were made it would be an amazing stay!

We have brought this to our housekeepers attention to notice and advise us in future and have instructed for our maintenance to look into this immediately. Regarding the pigeon faeces, this is not something that has every been brought to our attention or our housekeepers so hopefully it is a one off issue. However, we agree it is very unpleasant so we will absolutely look at this getting this cleared! Again thank you for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately, for our own security we need to ask for a security information. We are actually in the process of looking over different methods of gathering this information so we will take your additional cost recommendation into consideration, thank you! Just so you are aware we destroy your card details on the day of your check-out once the apartment has been looked over. This will be more clearly illustrated in future. Nice but hard to find
Directions to the location were a bit difficult to understand simply because the geography of the location is unique. We were looking for roads not realizing the "alleys" were roads. Rooms were clean and well kept.

We visit Edinburgh every few years and prices keep rising at hotels near The Royal Mile. Old town Apartments offer a great option. Our place was located on Old FishMarket close and we we delighted to see how easy it was to be on the Royal Mile with just a 1 minute walk. We enjoyed having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and the kitchen is very well equipped for light cooking. This place has a washing machine, although we could not locate a dryer rack. This is the best value in Edinburgh.

The apartment was ideal for us. Located right on the Royal Mile. The only drawback was the entryway to the apartment was through a dark and dirty alleyway (Close). We thoroughly enjoyed our Edinburgh stay and the apartment was a great part of that enjoyment. Definitely would recommend this apartment to others.

Super Lage und umfangreiche Ausstattung
Die Ferienwohnung befindet sich mitten im Zentrum der Altstadt und liegt jeweils nur wenige Meter entfernt von der Royal Mile und der Partymeile der Stadt. Wohnzimmer und Küche sind mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen Urlaub mit 4 Personen benötigt (inklusive Spülmaschine). Die Betten in den Schlafzimmern sind sehr gemütlich. Das einzige, kleinere Probleme ist die Lautstärke des Wasserboilers. Dieser macht erheblichen Krach wenn Wasser in einem der Badezimmer genutzt wird. Zudem sind viele der großzügigen Fenster relativ schmutzig von außen - mindert nicht die Qualität der Wohnung, sieht aber unschön aus.

Great apartment located right off the Royal Mile
There was some confusion about the address (we did not receive verification of the address until three days before arrival). It took several calls to Orbitz and the property manager to finally connect with someone who could assist. The apartment was exactly as pictured with a great location (walkable with luggage from the Waverly Train station - up a fairly steep hill) and great views (stretching all the way to Arthur's Seat). It is a top floor penthouse and there is an elevator. Noise was not a big problem (even though we were there during the Fringe Festival with young kids). Two great bathrooms, really an amazing property.

Great apartment next to the Royal Mile. Stayed for a couple of nights with 2 adults and 2 kids. Plenty of space in our unit with a full kitchen and 2 baths. TV was wonky, but that certainly is not what we were there for.

Be careful, take some pictures before departure
Stay was not bad overall, but there are a few things you need to be aware: Instructions are not good, difficult to find the place. Water heater needs to be turn on, stove as well and there is, once again, no any notes or instructions how to do that, nothing. First morning we ended up without breakfast and they sent someone later to turn the stove on, which was not very pleasant. Noisy from outside and every time you turn water on it makes a lot of noise, especially if you use hot water. Last, and the worst: we got charged almost $ 300.00 for damaged mirror which we didn't damage, upon our departure everything was in the same condition as received, nothing was broken or damaged and I HIGHLY recommend to take some pictures before you leave with date and time as a prove so you don't get charged for something you didn't do like we got charged.
