Quaint Cottage Located 15 Miles From Blacksburg VA

  • La cabaña cuenta con amplias habitaciones con pisos de madera, paredes de yeso originales y una isla de cocina hecha de tablas de 2 pies de ancho de principios de 1900. Ambos sofás se despliegan en camas para acomodaciones adicionales. Se encuentra cerca del New River y del ferrocarril Norfolk & Western y, como tal, el tren pasa ocasionalmente, tenga en cuenta el potencial de ruido del tren.

    La cabaña no es adecuada para grupos grandes o fiestas.

We enjoyed our stay. The home reminded us of childrenhood with our grandparents. It was a short drive to all kinds of thrift shops and antique stores which we love. The restaurant next door was awesome. The host was easy to communicate with.

Wonderful getaway

We loved our stay in Eggleston. Shaena's properties are charming and the location is perfect, close to the Palisades restaurant, Blacksburg and the Cascades waterfall. Thank you for such a wonderful trip. We look forward to coming back!

A charming cottage. Definitely close to the train track but we read the reviews so we were prepared. It does get loud but after a great dinner and bottle of wine at the Palisades restaurant next door you don’t mind so much. A great alternative to the overpriced hotels in Blacksburg during football season. Host was amazing!

A nice getaway

A beautiful setting for a charming cottage nestled in the mountains. Located next to the train tracks we enjoyed watching the trains go by.

Gorgeous Starlit Cottage

The cottage is as described, comfortable and big. The train is a bit noisy but earplugs do the trick - shower hot, excellent pressure, and extraordinary stars on a clear night. Absolutely would stay again. Thank you, Shaena!

We had the best time staying here. The house was so cute. Lots of room and we loved the porch! The scenery and proximity to nearby towns is so convenient. The restaurant next door was awesome. A definite return for us!! ♥️♥️♥️

Overall a good experience. The hostess was very nice and quickly addressed our questions. No hot tub to be found but the neighbooring resturant was excellent!

Cousins Reunite

Met with cousins and spouses on Saturday with a pot luck lunch. Great to connect as we are living apart. Had a terrific visit: especially the friendly engineers on the trains.

Great stay next to the best restaurant!

This was definitely a fun stay in a cool old house! The Palisades restaurant next door was outstanding. This Florida girl had a rough time with the curvy roads going up the mountain, but well worth it. We loved watching the trains go by and I slept through the night without a problem!

Rooms were clean. Beds are very squeaky. TRAIN NOISE ALL NIGHT. Couch beds are very old and worn out. Light switches should be labeled in such an old house.

Traveling to WV for a wedding and my mother took me to Palasades several years ago as it was a favorite of she and her late husband. When I saw the cottage was available I booked it. Loved everything about it - especially the trains. Loved being back in the mountains!!

Journey home

The property was very comfortable and the host was very helpful (a special thank you to Alicia for stepping in and being so helpful). As mentioned by others, there are trains that go by the back porch several times a day both day and night. We didn't mind it. Thanks again for a safe and comfortable stay.
