“Disappointing this time round. Previous trips have been fab but we were let down this time by grumpy reception staff (1 day and 1 night staff),a filthy bathroom with poo from the last guest (which they quickly returned to clean but this then, of course, put the cleanliness of the rest of the room into question, and the buffet dinner has totally gone to the pack with zero red meat options at all!!”

“Grounds are immaculate. Great view of the bush/river. Comfy bed. Good water pressure. Manager was fantastic. Good location (7 mins from New Plymouth by car). Quiet, safe. Can bike safely to New Plymouth ( sidewalk to round about on state highway 3 then side street with on road cycle path). Restaurant with yummy food on site. Things that could be better: Had only one BBQ so you need to reserve it in advance. Great stay and definitely a place I would go back. ”

“We loved our 4 days in Hurford. The place was small but comfortable and set in the most amazing beautiful garden! It was a good base to explore the area, great hiking in the Kataki range, lovely beach at Oakura. Only 20 mins from the Bowl of Brooklands where went to a concert. Highly recommend ”
