...the property is showing its age with maintenance issues that should be taken care of if the home is to be continued to be listed as “luxury.” The photos on the listing are apparently old, as fire pit needs to be redefined and weeded & the accent lights on the stairs leading down to the lake are broken, which could lead to a serious liability issue for the property owners. The backdoor screening is ripped, dock needs a total rebuild along with the wooden bench that was eaten away by termites(?). Canoe launch is steep and dangerous, so as much as we wanted to canoe each day we were unable. Also be aware there is an overflow drain at edge of the lake that is constantly flowing to keep water level from flooding and sounds like a waterfall, which is nice. When you’re down at lake front instead of serene quiet, all you hear is the flow...it’s a matter of choice if you like that or not.
Kitchen was stocked with whatever you need to cook, but the toaster oven SERIOUSLY needs replacing, as does coffee maker. For whatever reason the shelves in the door of the fridge had NO fronts on them, cutting the storage space in fridge so much so that we had to use a cooler filled with ice to store some of the food we and our guests brought....seven days worth! Overall cleanliness was okay: blinds downstairs were very dusty, platform for swivel stools also extremely dusty and ledge of backsplash in kitchen was VERY dirty, as I cleaned it myself upon arrival. My husband re-repaired the first floor toilet to keep it from running...it had been repaired with a twisty tie.
Plenty of towels were provided and beds were super comfortable, though first floor bed made an awful lot of noise when turning over during the night. Hot tub was missing the pillow needed to fully lay back your head and relax. This is a NICE location and truly could be a five star property with some catch up maintenance $$ and then continuing to do a walk thru every quarter to note issues to take care of...and DO.
Finally, this Sisson development seems to be defunct, as the pavilion mentioned in the listing description was inaccessible because gate was locked all the time we were there. We spoke with a full time resident and he said it is always locked. There are many rental homes around the lake, so be prepared for noisy neighbors who have no regard for the serenity..thankfully the ones we had near us left after a couple of days.
We WOULD stay here again if the issues we mentioned were resolved.
