Moonlight Beach Magic

With school right around the corner and a birthday celebration to be had, we pulled the trigger on an amazing stay at Moonlight Beach. We had a large family of 13 that we fit into this home and it had plenty of space for everyone. The views of the beach from the kitchen made the chore of washing dishes very enjoyable. Whether relaxing in the living room with the super comfortable couch or enjoying the ocean breeze from the back patio, you were enjoying a slice of heaven on earth. The location was the best, steps away from the beach but also walking distance to some great food and fun stores along the coast highway. Our family enjoyed our stay and we will be back for sure!

GREAT HOME IN A GREAT LOCATION

We travel to California every year with Friends & Family. This home, location, beach & town have been our favorite one over the last 5 years. Plenty of space in the home with great views! Plenty of towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards were really nice additions. The local area/restaurants were also great. We will definitely be back.

What a place!

Property was better than advertised! One of the best locations you can get and the house had a fantastic vibe. Couldn’t recommend this place any more. Views were off the charts and it was stocked with all the immediate needs.

Lovely home on the ocean

Was a comfortable clean home with beautiful view and right by the beach. outdoor area is not what is reflected in images. furniture was mostly covered and put away, not super clean outside. enjoyed our stay

Gorgeous, Prime location close to the beach

this house was a great home for our large family to stay in - lots of space to spread out from the first floor casita to the three upstairs bedrooms. the flexibility to prepare our own meals and have space to spread out inside and outside was wonderful. Very close to walk down to Moonlight Beach- Garage offered a parking spot plus the driveway allowed for up to two more. Great location to beach and to walk to ice cream each night.

Amazing house!

I grew up in Encinitas and stayed for a staycation with visiting relatives. This house is one my family and I had always wanted to stay and it was incredible and the views were amazing. Although there is no AC there around tons of fans in the house and usually the beach breeze circulates air well. Thank you so much for a great stay!

Location cannot be beat...

Had a great stay with family in this home. The location and weather were fabulous. This house accommodates large groups well and an abundance of beach supplies/toys/towels was appreciated. The property is well maintained but not new and the character of some appliances requires a bit of patience. Views from the kitchen, deck and patio are just unbeatable. The ocean waves can be heard clearly (especially at night) and are just great. Coordination with management was hit-and-miss. Adequate cleaning and kitchen supplies were a bit hard to come by.

Amazing Property, Amazing Location, Amazing Views

This is an easy review. Everything was top notch, first class. Yes, it's expensive, but in this case, you get what you pay for. The management company was easy to communicate with and had everything handled. Easy check in/out, no long laundry list of wash the windows, mow the grass, do all the laundry, or other bs I've seen with other places. We loaded the dishwasher, tidied up, and left. Easy peasy. The place is fabulous, well maintained, spacious, and has a very luxurious feel. We had friends come over for dinner. They've been summering in the area for over 20 years and they were blown away by the sweeping views and generous rooms. We've stayed at beach fronts high on the cliffs with torturous stairs down to the beach. Not here. Easy walk 5 houses down the street and wammo, you're on the beach. Easy back and forth to the house if you forgot something. The beach stretches far in both directions so long beach walks are easy. Being right next to Moolight beach was a positive for us. Lots of good people watching, waking up to kids squealing in delight playing in the surf, etc. Don't know if I would want to live that close to all the activity but for a weeks vacation it was delightful. No a/c in the house but lots of fans. We opened the doors and windows and never found ourselves hot. Close access to everything including the interstate. 5 stars for sure. Be sure and watch for dolphins, we saw several pods...

Best location I have stayed at

I have stayed at probably every VRBO on the bluff in Encinitas/Leucadia/Solana Beach since covid started—- a much needed monthly break for the kids and I from Chicago. This was by far the best location with walking distance to downtown Encinitas. I was disappointed by a few minor things. Lack of bathroom towels, TP, dishwasher and laundry detergent supplies——simple things like salt and pepper…. Extra paper towels. For the price we paid per night, I shouldn’t have had to go out and buy any of this. The parking was pretty tight for the number of cars they said could fit. They did mention it did not have AC and by the last night we were definitely wishing we had it. For some reason even with the doors and windows open we did not get a cross breeze off of the ocean. The bunk beds were not long enough for our boy teenagers so I had to use blow up mattresses for them to sleep on. So doesn’t sleep as many teens as you would think. Hope this review helps with your concerns if you are on the fence for renting this property

World class surf and beach access

Location, view and property manager communications and engagement were all-time awesome. So many great shops and great food within walking distance. Generous beach accessories available for use in garage. Exceptional artwork and decor - no surprise I suppose in Encinitas!

My wife, 15 year old son, and 13 year old daughter and I have considered moving from NJ to southern Cali for over 10 years. This trip was to “trial run” if we’d truly want to do it. We scored terrible weather. 48-52 degrees for the 5 day stretch we were there, super windy and driving rain. BUT, the view was still magnificent. Booking, check-in, arrival, all easy. The house itself l left a bit to be desired, considering the price. The house has four bedrooms but one do them is downstairs through the garage. We didn’t need it but if you have 3 kids or separate families staying together this would be very awkward. The house appears to have undergone a recent renovation with the floors being updated, the house repainted and the decor being redone. The furniture and vibe are cool. The bathrooms are still from the 80s. With the driving rain we had water come into the master bedroom around the door. Not a major deal but just a headache we didn’t want I deal with as clothes we had in that part of the room got wet. The location on the bluff is second to none but what I was unprepared for was the erosion. Upon arrival we immediately ran tot he back porch to enjoy the view. We noticed there must’ve been a recent cliff erosion/landslide where a portion of this properties sand cliff had washed down the hill, a part that lead right up to the patio. That made me very uncomfortable for the stability of the patio. I wouldn’t let anyone from our family out there for the rest of the trip.

Beautiful view, quiet neighborhood. Very nice beach nearby, and easy to walk into town. I'm guessing the home is not very active during the winter rental season, so we incurred a few minor maintenance issues - thus the 4 star rating.

Perfect location, great amenities

Wanted a small family reunion staycation on the beach. Five adults and two children. We all had our own rooms each with its own en suite, very comfortable. The home had amazing views of the ocean and an easy walk to the beach. The kitchen was well equipped and restaurants nearby for pick up or deliveries. Had a grocery store deliver food staples. The only drawbacks, no air conditioning, lots of fans, but for the price and comfort would of liked some AC . The other item, two of the showers did not have hot water to them. All in all, I would recommend if you are wanting an amazing stay at a beach

California Getaway

Beautiful home with amazing views and sounds of the ocean and beach from the patio! Very quick walk to the beach access- we had so much fun almost every day enjoying the sand and surf. (Bring water shoes - Encinitas beach is very rocky.) Frequently spotted dolphins from the patio! Short drive to San Diego attractions. Plenty of comfortable spaces to relax and eat indoors and on the multiple patio spaces with perfect beach umbrellas. Best storage space and kitchen equipment of any home we have stayed in. We loved staying here and it was perfect for our multi-generational family trip with grandparents, parents, and kids.

This property and the location were perfect for our family Spring Break trip. Beach access was excellent. Close enough to walk to it and yet far enough that we did not have to worry about our younger family members being unsupervised. The town of Encinitas is charming. Everything from grocery to shops and restaurants to box retailers like Target were either within walking distance or a short drive away. The home was very well equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable for our large group.

Amazing place!

Wow! Our stay could not have been better! Great updated house with everything you need, and the location is amazing. We walked down to the beach each day with the kids- it was so easy. Tons of beach stuff included. And the outdoor shower made it super easy to rinse everyone off afterward. The ocean views are beautiful with a great patio ambiance. Literally loved this place!
