stay in Belcoo

Hotel on main street - room first impression very good - not that large, and bathroom with toilet and shower quite cramped - shower really difficult to turn on and off - good size tv - really comfortable bed - breakfast ok - food in restaurant good value - tea and coffee in the wardrobe and difficult to use - not that well designed with no hooks for coats and towel rail in a weird place - light not working above the wash basin and nowhere with good light to do make up - you would struggle with luggage in the room as there was no where to put cases - no one on site at night so you'd have to call a night manager off site if you needed anyone.

Great hotel

We had a really good stay. Staff were very good. We stayed in one of the suites it was lovely very comfortable and large. The food was very good and the breakfast was also very tasty. Would highly recommend this hotel

Great location for local sights

Spacious, well appointed room. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, as was breakfast. Customer service was excellent and very receptive to customer feedback. We felt valued.

Had a lovely couple of nights at Customs House Country Inn, staff brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Had breakfast and one evening meal, food was excellent.

The hotel was very well run, the room was spotless, bed very comfortable, the meal we had in the restaurant was excellent. We stayed one night for our wedding anniversary but we will definitely be back. There is loads to do in the surrounding area.

Room poor, not as advertised.

Food and service good but room very disappointing. No tea/coffee making etc, window had zero view just roof tiles. Outer windowsill was gutter for roof rising up immediately outside window so all you saw was nothing but tiles just an arms length away. See the sky only if you stood right at window and looked up. No air conditioning which was stiflingly hot and stuffy. Worst was bathroom. Accessible bathroom (which we didn’t ask for or need) and the floor was lethal! Wet room style shower soaked whole floor and was even still a massive puddle in the morning. Very slippy and dangerous. One tiny rubber bath mat was no where near enough! Walking into bathroom in morning nearly slipped.

Highly recommend

Really nice room and bed, big bathroom but some areas not so clean. Bar staff great and dinner was a brilliant price. Breakfast a little disappointing but all in all very positive

2nd time at this property..but it will be our last

Stayed here before and had a wonderful experience. Breakfast was one of the nicest we had ever eaten. So when we were in the area again decided to stay again.. so dissapointing. The room is gorgeous cannot fault (we had a suite) all was good until the room below us decided to play loud music from after 2.00 am until nearly 4.00am. Hence not getting much sleep we knew we would be getting a good breakfast, was i wrong. It was like we were staying in a very different place. Mine had been left under the grill too long (the waiter even told me so when he left it down) it was too well cooked the poached egg was so hard. As for my husband, he had the full fry, over cooked was an understatement he left half of it behind. Luckilky enough they serve lovely homemade wheaten bread so we were able to fill ourselves up with that. We had a lovely meal the night before which we cannot fault but we will not be visiting this place again.

Lovely place to stay

It was a lovely inn. The room was clean with a lovely decor. There is no receptionist so you do have to go into the bar to find someone. Breakfast was lovely. Great place to stay if you want to go to do the Stairway to Heaven trail.

We had an interesting situation that had nothing to do with the owners of this amazing hotel. They took care of the situation and treated us extremely well. I would stay and recommend this place to anyone who finds them selves in the lake region of Ireland. Alan is an amazing owner and clearly cares about his guests and his establishment. Can not say enough nice things. The food is awesome and they pour a very fine pint of Gunnies.

Ok hotel.

Rather cold reception at check-in (after 10 days in Ireland we were used to very nice and warm greetings). Ok hotel, but nothing special, mainly chose it due to its rather close proximity to the Airport and it was close to local restaurants.
