“We had a wonderful stay at the shepards hut. The heating and lights had been put on reasy for our arrival as we were later than the check in time . Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay. ”

“The room was very spacious and comfortable. The property is old (steeped in history) but the room had all the features we needed. The instructions were excellent and the owners were incredibly responsive and helpful. The bed was a little creaky and the pillows were a little thin/soft for my preferences, but perfectly comfortable and adequate. Great value for money. Great location. Highly recommend the breakfast!! “Honestly while the hotel could do with some updating, it hit the most important notes. The WiFi was quick and easy to log into. The bed was comfortable and all was clean. The water pressure was good. So for the value it’s hard to find fault. Whilst it could do with more food offerings the area isn’t without options. I can recommend the Castle Bistro nearby. The food was amazing the staff were lovely. ”
