If you are looking for a place to stay near San Jose and SJO stop now! This place is magnificent. Very comfortable and spacious. Very private and romantic. Atenas is a great place to walk around and explore. Stayed 3 nights. Klaus is the best and responded to every question promptly.Let's talk about location and roads. We rented a Nissan Versa. From the description I thought I would consistently bottom out the vehicle. The toad was fine until the last 2 Km, then it becomes a landmine field where the holes are not filled. If you have ever driven on a dirt/gravel US country road after a rain has washed away the gravel it is very similar. Slow down to 10 MPH and look for the holes and there is no issue. Never bottomed out once but you will shake, rattle and roll.For a true healthy, natural, foodie experience try The Retreat's restaurants, Sol Terrace or Mystique outside Atenas. Incredible story behing the resort's mission. El Jardin in Atenas was also great! Say hello to Diego.We will be back!
