Myself, husband and two daughters stayed here for a week in August. Lavender gite was spacious, well equipped, comfortable and very quiet, being set away from main roads and very rural. Louise, Matt, Sarah and Paul worked hard to ensure we received a warm welcome and had everything we needed, including a much appreciated selection of essentials on arrival. We were able to relax after our journey with a cup of tea and make ourselves a bite to eat, without the need to find the local store. The surrounding area has much to do, with natural beauty and wildlife as well as historical towns and places of interest, all of which are quite easy to reach. Bayeux is a must for the tapestry and lovely Cathedral. D-day beaches and war graves were very moving, also easy to get to for a visit - plenty of museums to choose from on this subject too. The people of Normandy were friendly and helpful to my daughter practising her A-level french and the Boulangerie in Sainteny has truly lovely cakes, well worth a try. We had a really good time during our week at Lavender and have no hesitation recommending it as a clean and comfortable place to stay, with friendly and helpful owners who are willing to offer advice and visit hints and tips - if required.
