Stayed for one night and wish we would’ve stayed longer. Everything was clean and tidy. Staff members were friendly and talkative. The history of the whole building was very unique and cute. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant but everything smelled delicious. Would highly recommend staying here we will definitely be back!

I had an excellent stay. I was greeted warmly for check in. I then ate dinner at the restaurant which was good. The server was kind and attentive. The hotel/room is antiquated (in a good way), but very clean. The bathroom has a remodeled shower and toilet. It has character, unlike a sterile hotel room elsewhere. The bed was actually incredibly comfortable. Sheets were clean and smelled fresh. The breakfast is simple, but homey. And I appreciate that. Definitely seems like a hidden gem in the area.

Near Beale Manor for the event we were attending and is rustic, comfortable, quaint and clean. Good bar and continental breakfast in the morning.

We were notified the day before our Xmas Eve stay that no staff or other guests would be at the inn. We arrived to dark hallways with stairs and had to search for light switches. The building also housed an empty restaurant and the smell of cooking/heating gas was strong. We contacted the owner who came out and said that he checked and could not find a gas leak. The electrical in the room was not up to code - outlets with no cover and “rigged” TV and AC plug ins. There was mold in the corner by the AC unit. The bathroom was missing a lightbulb above the sink. The box spring was ripped and dirty. I have pictures of everything that I would be happy to share. It was Xmas Eve and we were stuck with no other hotel options nearby. This hotel needs to be inspected by the authorities. I would never stay here again and have never experienced anything like this in all my years of travel. Please feel free to contact me directly. This hotel is unsafe for occupancy.

This is a great historic inn, with a lot of charm. The place is very clean, and the restaurant is very good. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for a night and it was great! My wife and I stayed here while we went to Victory Brewing in Parkesburg. It’s about 5 minutes away. This place is seriously decorated straight out of a Hallmark movie and that’s a compliment. The staff greeted us right away when we got in and everyone was so friendly. When we came back the bar downstairs gave us a drink to bring back to the room. There was breakfast for us in the morning. It was so nice. I would have liked to have stayed longer! We found out later there might be some paranormal activity here too, which could be fun if you’re into that kind of thing. Research it! This place looks great for private events, coming to the restaurant for dinner, drinks, extended stays, or just one night like us! They seem to do it all. I would highly recommend! Such a unique place in the best way.

Clean room, but breakfast not served until 8am. Did not have hot water for a shower on my last day. Bar is loud n the evening. Service at the restaurant could be better… very slow and inattentive. Food was excellent, though!

The people who run this inn are very nice. Our room was on the second floor above the restaurant and it was too noisy to sleep on a Friday night until 11:30pm. It was very quiet after the staff left for the evening. Dinner was very good.

They served the same thing for 2 days. The food did not seem as fresh and the variety was lacking. We had to ask for tea, ask for utensils ask for decaf coffee. These things are standard. The only thing served was bagels and cream cheese. I do not mind paying a premium for breakfast. Show some effort. The staff was very helpful and nice

We spent one night here due to it being located close to a wedding we were attending. The good… Bartender was extremely friendly and helpful, light bites we had were good. The bed was extremely comfortable. Room was clean, although the facility itself could use a good cleaning and sprucing up. The bad… safety is a high concern. At 2 am, someone unlocked our door with a key and attempted to enter! Startled from our sleep I yelled out and they shut the door. THANK GOD WE HAD THE SAFETY LATCH ON! We had our key to the room in our possession. How was someone able to use another room key for our room? We had a very hard time sleeping the remainder of the night for obvious reasons. No management was around at 8 am when we left to discuss this with.
